We had a wonderful time with the courteous staff, delicious food, and comfortable accommodations.
We were lucky to be upgraded to a junior suite which was very nice. The building, facilities ,staff and welcome were perfect. Would definitely stay here again
Beautiful hotel. Superb location. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms. The only minus is the noise from the street. We got used to it after a while and it also helped that we were really tired at the end of the day. But a little soundproofing on the windows would help a lot.
The perfect boutique hotel. Great location and simply marvelous staff. The women at the front desk could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended.
Great hotel and great staff. Really friendly staff who will help with information about restaurants, shops, things to see.
We really loved our stay here and can recommend this hotel.
Hotel was absolutely beautiful. Staff was extremely helpful and genuine. The employees are a real asset for the hotel and guests. The breakfast was served in our room and the best we experienced in all of the hotels we stayed in.
This little hotel is a gem! A few blocks from the center, plenty of restaurants close by and it has impeccable service. It's an old mansion that is well kept with antique furnishings & tasteful decor. Loved this place!

I have been traveling the world for over 50 years, and one of my deepest concerns has been the gradual erasure of charm from hotels. Modern standardization has stripped many places of their individuality, replacing history and character with sterile, interchangeable rooms. When I travel, I make a conscious effort to stay in hotels that honor their heritage and allow me to feel connected to the city’s past, rather than those rushing to conform to a modern, uniform aesthetic.
With that philosophy in mind—and without restricting myself by budget—I chose to stay at the Petit Palais Amélie in Milan, fully aware that a historic property may not be “perfect” in the conventional sense, nor in every physical detail relative to its price point. I was fortunate to visit during the week before Christmas, when both the hotel and the city were filled with a warm, festive ambiance.
The reviews I read beforehand were, by and large, very accurate. For my wife and me, our stay was deeply meaningful—personal, warm, and genuinely delightful. The hotel’s small staff creates an intimate, welcoming atmosphere that makes guests feel truly cared for. Its location allows for easy walking access to all major sights, and the history of the building is extraordinary, having once sat along a canal that disappeared nearly a century ago.
I was not disappointed in any way. Our stay was truly delightful and embodied the very definition of a hotel de charme—something increasingly rare and deeply appreciated
Great property. Beautiful lobby and clerks on site 24/7. Super helpful with taxis and area recommendations. Convenient walking distance to the Duomo square. Highly recommend! Very safe!
The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great hotel fairly close to the Duomo
Beautiful little hotel in walking distance to Duomo. Our only issue was air is centrally controlled and it may have been communication errors but the room was too warm at night. Staff was amazing overall.
The staff. Everyone who works at Petit goes far and above their duty to help you. Their dining recommendations were excellent. They were just so helpful. The hotel is walking distance from the Duomo, or you can catch a tram. Can’t recommend the Petit Palais more. Definitely will be our go to place in Milan
Very nice accommodations. Only thing I didn’t care for was the shower. Glass only covered half the opening so no possible way to take a shower without getting water all over the floor. Staff was very helpful.
🌟 A Five-Star Experience Defined by Exceptional Staff- (Thanks Marianne!!!)
From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I knew this hotel was something special. The ambiance was elegant yet welcoming, with tasteful décor and a calming atmosphere—but what truly set the experience apart was the staff.
👥 Staff Excellence Marianne who received us, embodied professionalism, warmth, and genuine hospitality. Check-in was swift and seamless, offering helpful local tips and a sincere smile that made me feel instantly at home.
🍽️ Breakfast was equally impressive, served at your room, it was just fabulous.
🛏️ Room & Amenities The room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and immaculately clean. Every detail reflected thoughtful design and care. Room service was prompt and courteous, and the staff were knowledgeable and kind, making our trip in Milano as unique experience.
💬 Final Thoughts In a world where luxury often feels impersonal, this hotel stands out for its heart. The staff didn’t just provide service—they created connection. It’s rare to find a place where hospitality feels this genuine. I left feeling not just rested but truly cared for.
Excellent concierge services from staff assisting with last minute reservations on Thursday and Friday nights. We were very happy with the restaurant recommendations. Very friendly. Small, charming and intimate NOT big, corporate and impersonal. Great if you like to explore by walking. We only used taxis from/to the train station. Many thanks to G for all her help.

The staff is very nice and helpful. The property has charm but is old and more like a 3 star hotel. We had bugs in the closets, and barely any water pressure in the shower, AC was non existent. The biggest challenge is the noise. Ambulances go by all day and night to a nearby hospital and the streetcar creates a small earthquake every time it rumbles by, it feels like there is a train running through the lobby. I appreciate the staff however this would not be a return destination for us
Excellent staff and lovely room. Lots of thoughtful amenities in the room. Sadly the boiler wasn’t working when we stayed and therefore we had to leave early due to no hot water for showering, hence rating for comfort. Hotel staff refunded the stay and were apologetic. I’d stay again when all working.
