"The surrounding area is not very attractive. It's close to the train station so commute to the city center is quick. But there is not much around the hotel. There aren't any coffee shops, restaurants etc. The area feels kind of abandoned. The hotel is nice and rooms are decent. Had I known what was in the surrounding area I would probably stay in the city as a first timer to Amsterdam. "
