"Kitchen manager was rude one night we arrived at 932 pm from a tour to ask if we could have some food. ( they stopped serving at 930 but it was a buffet). He was extremely rude and quickly ushered us out of the dining area."

"We stayed for our honeymoon in Madeira and loved it! The spa amenities, daily breakfast buffet and of course the views were incredible. We rented a car from the front desk and that process was SO easy and seamless. Parking was free and easy. This was the perfect spot for us to easily get on the highways and explore the island of Madeira each day. My husband and I are truly so pleased"

"Excellent Hotel. Very friendly staff. Very easy access to downtown. Took us 10 minutes to walk to downtown cable car site. If you need any supermarket items, the mall is right downstairs and there is a nice supermarket there also. There is filtered water on every floor in a machine.The breakfast is also excellent. Great coffee machine, selection of fruits and cheeses and breads, as well as numerous hot entrees. Also, very big plus was we rented a car and used the free parking in the downstairs...

"We thoroughly enjoyed our 7night stay at The Residence (30/8/25-5/9/25) and would definitely recommend. "We have stayed at the Pestana Lido every time visiting Madeira. It has the best location, wonderful staff and excellent food and drinks. You are literally surrounded by amazing ocean views from every room. We love the personal service due to its smaller size hotel. "

"Loved the location, cleanliness and vibe of the hotel with fantastic pools and all staff were great. Only downside was limited parking and I was only able to get a space at the hotel on 1 of 5 days, all other days I had to search for on street parking around 500m away from the hotel. Not ideal but aware there isn’t much can be done about it due to the central location."
