"Location couldn’t be better, great that it has a car park, very pleasant in the hotel, a nice space to be. Reception staff were great, waiting on staff were a bit miserable, especially at breakfast. The bar area is lovely. Scaffolding and builders at your window were a drawback but maintenance has to be done. Bed was VERY hard, a bit too much for my liking. Feather pillows that squash virtually flat, should have asked for a foam option with hindsight! It was ok, I wouldn’t not go back but in my opinion the price premium is for location rather than an outstanding hotel experience"

"The staff were very friendly and happy to help. Brilliant location, right next to the Haymarket train and tram stations. Good links for buses and taxis too. Platform 5 pub attached to the hotel is very good, pleasant atmosphere, food and drinks. The room could have been a bit cleaner, in particular the floors. The duvet was incredibly thick, coupled with the fact the windows were screwed shut and the air conditioning would only go to a minimum of 20 degrees, it made for quite a warm night."

"Clean room, I dealt with a friendly lady who showed me my room in the basement, told me where the shower and bathroom was. Location was noisy and there was some people up stairs speaking very loudly. I enjoyed my stay as I was alone but if your looking for somewhere more modern and luxury this isn't the place for you. I booked it purely for price. "

"Beautiful views, excellent food and really lovely staff. After checking in, I ordered food from the restaurant staff. The gentleman who took my order (his name may have been Nigel, his hair was in a ponytail), was so pleasant and his smile was genuine, something that in turn made me smile, not easy after a 30 hour working day. The room was also lovely with views towards Edinburgh and I hadn’t booked anything fancy. In the morning, the buffet breakfast was great with lots of fresh food being brought out by some more lovely staff. I’ve never left a review before so I hope it means something to someone reading this. If I have to stay in Edinburgh again, I’ll be hoping I can get a room here."

"The suite was clean and well set up. It was a little confusing that it wasn’t at the main address provided but the instructions from staff were easy to follow. The unit included lots of instructions for how to operate things including the heating. Overall a comfortable stay."

"Stunning looking venue with great service from the staff. We had the veggie and Scottish breakfast. Both were excellent. Great location next to The Meadows and within 15 mins walk of the main attractions. Will definitely return."
