I've stayed at Palihouse West Hollywood and Silverlake Pool & Inn and had pretty good experiences with both locations and would certainly stay at both again. Both of those locations were well represented by photos, descriptions, and reviews. The only reason I didn't book either of those locations again for this trip was because there were not double bed rooms available. I am shocked by the state of the Palihotel Hollywood. This should NOT be advertised as a 4 star hotel. It is a motel in a sketchy location with a new paint job. The hallways are filthy with heavily stained carpets and stink. The double queen rooms are a joke with their nearly nonexistent windows. There was no valet and zero staff to help with luggage. The elevator from the garage is filthy, jumps, and doesn't line up with the floor. I used to be a housekeeper in a hotel and immediately noticed the heavily stained furniture and the gritty, dirty floor, there was zero sunlight or airflow since the window is a tiny little strip that opens just a crack. We asked to upgrade the room because of how bad the one we were originally given was, but no king rooms were available and the other double queen available was just as bad, if not maybe worse with a tiny ~24" tall window that appears to have formerly been a bathroom window inside a shower. We immediately walked back out of the room, didn't touch anything, and cancelled our booking due to the unacceptable conditions, but the manager wouldn't to give us a full refund
