"Beautiful setting right on the river with a very friendly staff team and clean and well appointed rooms.
It’s not luxurious but everything is thought through and it’s clean.
Mattress on the bed was a bit worn - I could feel the springs a bit, so that could do with a replacement but it was a generally really comfortable and relaxed stay.
Food was very good - very nice cooked breakfast and I had one evening meal which was very generous.
As a solo traveller I felt very comfortable and the staff...

"This was our fourth trip from Canada to the UK and our fourth stay at Thornbury Castle. There is something truly magical about staying in a place so steeped in history. The castle’s charm, character, and atmosphere make every visit feel like a special occasion.
The staff and service are consistently exceptional, making us feel genuinely welcome each time we return. It’s rare to find a place that continues to impress you visit after visit, but Thornbury Castle never disappoints."

"Wonderful accommodations in a most beautiful part of our world. The building is very old and this is not perfect. For us it was perfect. An excellent breakfast each morning and dinner and pints in the evening. Plenty to see nearby. We look forward to visiting again."

"The signature rooms are very nice - spacious and with a balcony. Love the lounge and the good breakfast at Steak on Six. Sona was good for dinner, with superbly attentive staff, but it was a little overpriced. Our air con didn’t work and the pool changing rooms could do with a freshen up, but otherwise a very pleasant and relaxing stay."
