It's is a Romanticist castle that stands on the top of a hill in the Sintra Mountains. And undoubtedly one of the most iconic places in Portugal. And a dream come true to visit it! It is a national monument and constitutes one of the major expressions of 19th-century Romanticism in the world. The palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. Loved the property, had a pool, view of Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle and valley, short walk to restaurants and shops. Staff helped us with tickets, information and booked taxi for us up to Pena Palace. Lovely breakfast brought to our room. Would highly recommend!

A beautiful and bucolic setting. Just be aware it is sort of resort/ retreat like vibe. There are a lot of steps to navigate so better for light travel (not too much luggage) and outdoors people vs. standard hotel/ inn stay. The staff were lovely and extremely helpful. Sintra in this area requires a good amount of walking (including uphill). Uber and cars can be called as needed. Breakfast is delivered to your room which is nice (and a good selection and generous).

The view from the balcony is stunning. Service is extremely helpful. We were upgraded to a suite, which was a nice surprise. The walk to Sintra old town is about 15 minutes up hill. Not for the faint of heart, but well worth the walk.

Breakfast was very good. Lovely having it delivered to the room. Walk to city center uphills was about 25 minutes. I suggest people with mobility problems to avoid this hotel. Lots of stairs, few railings and can be quite dangerous.

The staff was fabulous. When we arrived, they booked us tickets for the same day to go to the palace, arranged a taxi, and made us a dinner reservation. Although we were concerned about the lack of air conditioning ( it was HOT), the ocean breeze did come in and cool our room. A very pleasant experience.

The staff are extremely pleasant, helpful, friendly and kind. They were very informative and helped us make reservations. Fillipa is the greatest! The location has parking and is convenient for walking into Sintra and to the castles. Our room and bed was very comfortable. The breakfast in our room was one of the best experiences!

Perfect stay

Perfect stay. Property is beautiful and feels like you are in the countryside. A short walk or Uber from the historic center. Superior room view to the mountains is so beautiful. This hotel has attention to details and you will have everything you need on a holiday.

Casa do Valle offers a home away from home setting in the Sintra area. I like that you can walk to town in 10 minutes up hill and it is down hill back to the hotel. Rooms had balconies and views. It was very comfortable and staff was friendly and helpful.
