"There is a reason this is a three star hotel. Despite some pleasant room decor and very helpful staff there are many things that let it down. Exterior is shoddy, rooms look over a busy road or a busy courtyard- both are noisy when windows are open in warm weather. Menu disappointing and limited - there was literally nothing that enticed me. There was also a lack of choice for vegan or even veggie options. "All good, nice clean room, good selection of beers and wine, decent area outside if weather permits, and a very enjoyable meal in the evening. The village itself is very quiet, but would certainly recommend if looking for an overnight stay to break up a journey north or south."

"Dianne went out of her way to be helpful at all steps of our stay. Great parking facilities, great shower, comfy bed. Everything needed was provided and well thought through. We were able to arrange to collect the keys early as we were due at a wedding and Dianne went out of her way to help us arrange a taxi booking to and from the venue nearby. Breakfast was varied and plentiful."

"No evening meal due to chef needing time off, staff seemed to have no idea what was happening. Only food available in the area was pizza at a hostel across the road. Breakfast room opened at 8:30 and consisted of help yourself Coco pops, croissants or toast, if you had an early start, nothing. Overall a very poor experience."

"Room was fine, tea and coffee wasn't very nice and no complementary biscuits. No magnifying mirror in the bathroom. States Brompton however 8 miles away. Bed was really uncomfortable. Evening meal was nice, 10% surcharge on you bill! Wine expenses! Breakfast was so so. Waited a long time for someone to come to the checkin fest on arrival and departure. Probably would try an alternative hotel "

"Lovely country pub and stay nice cooked food and breakfast which is decent size to start your day . Rooms and nice and roomy and comfy got everything you need all clean and tidy . The rooms attached to pub are great if you’re disabled . The staff are lovely a really nice family run place so welcoming in a beautiful little village with gorgeous surroundings peaceful . Loved it will be back again ."

"The bar was well stocked great pub atmosphere. Our twin room was lovely and spacious. Beds were comfy. Host were friendly left us in peace. The back door was easy quick exit for leaving. There is room for improvement on the corridor to the stairs of our room. Overall would happily stay again. Did not try the food."

"A lovely stay in a beautiful part of the world. We stayed in one of the accessible rooms, so can’t comment on the other accommodation, but our room was clean, if a little dated. The real positives were the staff, genuinely lovely and welcoming – along with excellent food and a great selection of local beers on tap.
