"I've stayed at Hotel Carmel a few times now and every time, it's been great! It's in a central area located just a few minutes walk from pretty much anything! It's just a few minutes from the Promenade or a few minutes from the pier. It's a great hotel to stay in!"

"We recently stayed at this hotel, and overall it was a fantastic experience. The location is absolutely perfect ; very convenient and easy to get around. What truly stood out was the staff. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and throughout our stay, it felt like they genuinely went above and beyond to accommodate us. It wasn’t just the big gestures, but also the small details that made a difference. I mentioned at check-in that it was my wife’s birthday, and the team completely exceeded our expectations. We were unexpectedly upgraded to a suite, and there was even a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us. Needless to say, they made us feel very special. The only small note is that the hotel itself is a bit older. However, it didn’t take away from the experience at all …. the ambiance, service, and overall atmosphere more than made up for it. Would absolutely stay here again."

"Staff and spirit of hospitality are in constant supply at Centric. Emerson's service for our birthday party made it perfect. He was patient and anticipated each guest's desires. He helped me feel like I was a great hostess! Manager looked for ways to help us feel at home. Location is convenient and rooms have great orientations towards the ocean and city - not far from beach - far enough to enjoy utterly quiet sleep hours. Nice facilities. Bar and food offerings are well prepared. Good for pleasure and working visits for me."

"We booked Surf Rider based on the strong reviews, especially the repeated mentions of great hospitality-but unfortunately, our experience didn't reflect that at all. The rooms are extremely small, and the noise from PCH is constant and very loud, making it difticult to relax or sleep. I asked if there was any possibility of moving to a quieter room, but the only option offered was to pay an additional $450-$1000, which felt unreasonable. We were also staying here to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and there was no acknowledgment whatsoever—no small gesture or even a simple mention, which was disappointing given the hotel's reputation for hospitality. The front desk representative look at us like we had four heads when mentioned the celebration. Overall, for the price point, I expected a much more comfortable and thoughtful experience. This stay fell short. Very disappointed we chose this over the Malibu Beach Inn who actually provides a getaway experience reflective of the price point. There’s not a rogue one or a robe."

"If you are headed to Santa Monica/LA this is definitely the place to stay. It is reasonably priced, the staff is incredibly friendly, the amenities are so nice, the food at the restaurant is to die for but most importantly everything is CLEAN! It’s been a long time since I’ve stayed at a hotel that hits all of the important factors in a stay. I have absolutely no complaints about the property and my entire stay. I highly recommend and ocean view room, the views are incredible! You almost don’t ever have to leave the hotel! The pool is beautiful, the restaurant is open for all 3 meals, and you have everything you could need. Our stay included access to bikes at no additional cost which was also really cool! Could not recommend this hotel more, you won’t be disappointed!"

"Loved the salt and stone amenities in the bathroom. Bed was comfy. Valet cheaper than a parking ticket. Close to everything but a nice retreat in the city."
