The room was well equipped with fridge, microwave, glasses, plates and utensils. We enjoyed the free espresso machine and the variety of tea in the lobby, hotel was very clean. The room was a tad too small for the three of us, it would have been great for two people.

Excellent location, reasonable size room. Staff was helpful, however service could be better (trash not cleaned, bed not made during our stay).

Excellent location. Close to everything. Can do shopping immediately when you leave the hotel. The tourist spots are also within walking distance. If you prefer to take a bus, the bus stop is just 1 min away. The hotel is modern, and the room is big in terms of Japanese hotel. The hotel provides us with coupons to taste donuts in the fancy store downstairs, which has nice deco and good donuts.

Big room with washer and dryer which is a plus when you are travelling light. Easily accessible via the Hankyu line and lots of food around the hotel.

While the location is central to the shopping area, it’s hard to get to by public transit. The room was very small for a family of 3. We didn’t have much space to move around. While washer/dryer was a plus in the room everything else was a miss.

Central and new with washing machine
Our family trip to Japan took us to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka and our everyone including my kids loved Tokyu Stay Kyoto Sakaiza the most. It is super central as we could walk to get our Kimono rental and do a day walking trip to all the major shrines, also super near to Nishiki Market. We loved it that it was so new, staff were very friendly and professional while there is also a washing machine and dryer in the room which really helped for our trip. Price works for us too. Strongly recommended.

Good location and nice property with free coffee. Convenient to have washer/dryer in room. The only downside was that the bed was very hard by western standards.

우선 방과 욕실 모두 너무 깨끗합니다. 방도 넓고 창가에 테이블도 있어서 밖을 바라보며 쉴 수 있어서 좋았어요. 직원분들도 친절하고 역과 가까워서 이동이 편리했습니다. 주변에는 예쁜 상점과 레스토랑이 많이 있습니다.

The staff at the hotel are exceptional. When we were leaving to Osaka, we asked general transportation. However when we checked out, staff actually wrote down exactly which train routes and time. I would visit here again without any hesitation.

Location is great. Inside the covered market streets. Walk out and you are right there. Subway station steps away. Nishiki market is 5 minute walk. You are steps away from the main boulevard with all the designer stores if that’s what you want. Gion area is a 15 minute walk. Modern facilities in hotel, rooms are large and washer/dryer was key. Japanese service is excellent anywhere you go.

The hotel is located in an excellent location if shopping and sightseeing is your goal for visiting Kyoto. We love the fact that there is a washer/dryer machine in the room. It has been kept clean too. We used a good number of times for our laundry. The staff is polite, courteous and knowledgeable. The hotel also provided maps for nearby breakfast, shopping and transportation online. We really enjoyed the congee place nearby. We found this congee place from the map that the hotel provided. There was also a very popular Ramen place nearby. We could see the long queue of people waiting at the Ramen place from our window. Will definitely stay in this hotel again when we visit Kyoto again.

Read about this chain on a travellers blog and thought we would try it out. Glad we did. Hotel location gives you easy access to all types transportation, shopping and dining. Area felt safe. Hotel looks new and is well kept. The premiere room was excellent! Ample space, large bathroom, huge table which was great for planning out our days in Kyoto. The in-room laundry worked great. We enjoyed the staff's suggested casual places to eat inclduing No Name Ramen and Sushitetsu sushi on Pontocho alley. They offer a free outside concierge service to make reservations or boookings for you. Highly recommend you make your reservations ahead of coming to town though as spots fill up fast in Kyoto for anything. Overall, great stay.

Wonderful service, this was a fun and convenient area to stay. The room amenities were perfect for travelers, washer/dryer worked really well.

Wonderful Hotel
We had a wonderful stay: great location, helpful staff, spacious room, tastefully decorated everywhere, and the high-end washer/dryer in the room was exceptional. Would definitely stay here again. The only negative was the heavy quilts on the beds in summer weather: using them requires setting the air conditioning much colder than preferred to prevent overheating while sleeping, resulting in wasted energy and an environmental cost. A sheet would have sufficed and been more appropriate.
