The place has an excellent location. It is like 200 m from the Higashiyama Metro Station. There are many touristic attractions nearby. I was staying in a Superior Apartment with two beds. The apartment was clean and air-conditioned, which worked quietly. A part of the apartment is a small kitchen equipped with a small ceramic two-heater stove, fridge, microwave, sink, and a washing machine. I have to admit that I have not used the kitchen, but it is a nice feature for peoples who like to eat their own meals. The internet is free and has sufficient speed. The staff is nice and helpful.
Now some limitation that one should know about:
- The reception is only open from 16 until 23. No one is there the rest of the time. I have locked out myself and had to call their central office. However, within 20 minutes somebody has come and let me in. I am not sure how this would work at night when the central office is closed.
- There is no wardrobe in the room but only a standing hanger on which many clothes will not hang.
- The apartment is being cleaned every few days.
- The entrance to the hotel is partially below the ground. Windows in rooms at level 1 face a solid wall (no view). I have to admit that it was not bothering me as my goal was to explore Kyoto, not to stay in the apartment. On the other hand, having the apartment partially below the ground made it very quiet.
- Almost all controls have Japanese descriptions, so be sure to bring some online translator.
