"They, the staff, exceeded my expectations . Courteous, helpful, kind and pleasant are words that I would use to describe them. Everyone greets you with a bow and civility, right down to the hardest workers in the hotel. For that, i will surely come back. My stay at the Prince Hotel East was worth every yen and then some. I originally was suppose to stay at the Sunvalley Hotel, in Shiga Kogen. I lost my reservation there due to payment issues. I was hesitant about coming to the Prince Hotel. It was my first time. The room i stayed in was probably one of the best i have seen for the price. The next time I am in Shiga Kogen, i am staying at the Prince Hotel East, without a doubt."

"Second time using Nozawa Dream central. Location is excellent. Staff ALWAYS go above and beyond to help. Special shout out to Cora! Extremely helpful! Staff also understand the nuances to blending the Japanese +/- western resort experience. Rooms are traditional tatami style, so just be aware after a few days of sending it, our lumbered western bodies may take a hit getting up and down from the mats. Bathrooms/showers are shared - gets very cold down there. Coffee and tea station all provided for. No breakfast during this season's visit. But that's not a deal breaker. "

"What a spectacular place! The staff were very helpful and gracious, the room was lovely, the nine Onsen were all unique with different temperatures of water (the Onsen in town were very very hot, so this was especially nice to have), the food was delicious (they even prepared vegetarian for us!), my message was EXCELLENT. We took the shuttle to see the snow monkeys but walked the 20 minutes back in the sun. And had the special treat of seeing and playing a game with the charming and talented geisha of Shibu Onsen! We had a lovely two night stay. "

"The gentleman who runs the place is very nice and accommodating. There was hot water and tea waiting for us in our room, which was a delicious, unexpected treat. The bathroom / shower are small, but were clean and served their purposes. The women’s onsen was very relaxing and much needed after a day at the Snow Monkey Park. My family and I enjoyed our stay. "Staff was friendly and working hard. Room was clean, comfortable and nicely updated… but they’re fighting an uphill battle against an aging run down building with apparently a long-broken elevator for 6 floors. Great price on difficult to find lodging in the area."
