Lovely place to stay. Great service and very friendly. There is an on site cafe which to be fair I only used once for breakfast but although the presentation was good, I left most of it - not nice at all.

We had the side ocean view room, and it was renovated, clean and very comfy. They didn't let us check in early, and service was kind of slow, but everyone was friendly. We had a very easy pool and ocean access, and we really enjoyed our stay!

The Mermaid is a great place to stay especially for an entry and exit strategy to the islands of Thailand! Close to the airport Good food and cocktails! We stayed in a pool and ocean view room. Super clean and shiny, great bed, great air con, great medium sized infinity pool, we loved Bangrak! It is very under rated and stayed 3 nights at the Mermaid to finish up a 3 week visit to 5 locations. Oh and I almost forgot it’s cheap as chips compared to where we live! Shout out to Samui Mermaid

We stayed one night straight from airport so didnt use the amenities. Our room was lovely, overlooking private pool with side view of sea. Breakfast was nice & good value. Taxi into ferry port from the hotel was quick & cheap. Ferry to Koh Panghang was easy to book at the port including taxi to next venue at Koh Panghan. Only thing I would suggest is to prebook a private taxi from the airport as there was a huge queue at the airport taxi place.

Fantastic view and service

I booked a Grand Deluxe Room with pool and sea view and I got exactly that. Great room, great view, fantastic service and the restaurant delivers right to our room by the pool. The only downside is that the pool is promised Only to the ppl who book the grand deluxe rooms but there are constantly other crowds there too even though there are 2 other pools they can enjoy. The hotel staff do not keep track of anyone who is not supposed to be there.

Pick your room wisely - good location

I chose the pool and ocean view room and it was great when it was quiet. There were a couple of things that weren’t publicised in advance: the pool is only for guests staying in certain rooms, check-in is 2pm not 1.30pm as publicised on hotels.com and there is a 500 Thai baht deposit for the key. There are no safes in the room but some dodgy looking communal lockers at reception. I was in a room with access to the pool so that was great. However, this isn’t actually policed and there were youngsters walking in from the beach and other accommodations. On one occasion a large family took over the pool and were smoking and drinking in it. From the pool rooms this is pretty noisy too. When it was quiet it was beautiful but when it’s busy be prepared to have a highway outside your door/window and bed! Lighting in bathroom and changing area was very limited. For the price it was excellent.

For personal reasons I always stay in the SAMUI mermaid whenever I’m in Koh SAMUI. As on previous occasions I leave after 8 days perfectly satisfied. Check in quick and efficient. All staff that I had contact with were efficient and polite. They could all speak English to an acceptable level. Room was spacious and the bedding was clean and changed daily. Internet strong and reliable. Information the hotel has two accommodation blocks separated by a main road. The price varies quite dramatically so try to book your room accordingly. Its very close to the arrival flight path of SAMUI airport, so expect 20 seconds of aircraft noise between 0700 and 2200. 30 departures and 30 arrivals. Otherwise I had a very enjoyable stay. 👌

Lovely property and staff. The beds were comfortable, firm tho. Showe was nice. There is construction going on to the left side of the resort while we were there and a mild smell of fish in our room. The staff came and re-cleaned our room and left an air freshener in it. This helped a bit. I think it was out of their hands though as it was coming from next door. The pool was clean and nice and the view is beautiful.. It is a little noisy with jets going over all day long landing and taking off from the airport. We found it entertaining as they come down so low it’s pretty shocking. Bonus though as you’re super close to the airport! The staff at the restaurant is nice. We only ate there twice. It was ok. There are plenty of places nearby so lots of variety. Easy walk to the Buddha’s and the fish market which is interesting. Overall we would stay there again. Great value for the price.

Our room was very unclean. There were huge stains on the head board near the pillows. The bathroom had stains all over the toilet paper holder and there was grime around the shower handle. Checked in at night, asked the staff to change rooms and they eventually agreed. The new room also had urine stains on the toilet. We bought disinfectant and cleaned it. We checked out next day, 3 nights early, we did not want to stay there longer.

Nice hotel, close to the beach , nice pool

We asked if we could check in early since we arrived before checking time, but the staff at the reception as soon as we were in front of the door, they put a sign that says checking time is at 1:30 pm, but they let us leave our luggage at the reception. The pool you see on the advertising is not the one you could use unless you're in the superior room. In the room, the pillows are really comfy but the bed was so old and spring coming out and was really painful.
