A/C was needed and worked well to keep the room comfortable. The room was small but clean with a comfortable bed and nice sized private bathroom. The included breakfast was amazing. All the staff were courteous, helpful and friendly. Would stay again.

The room was very small but fine for two nights. Breakfast is nice, and the staff runs the small space very efficiently. Street parking wasn't a problem. Interesting historic property, and I got a tour after check-in, including the room where Admiral Nimitz stayed and info about descendants of Ulysses S. Grant in town.

From the minute we stepped in the front door and our final departure we had the most wonderful time at the Julian Gold Rush Hotel. Staff was great, friendly, helpful, outstanding breakfast, great to have gathering areas to meet and get to know other guests, no TV, felt we were back in the gold rush days. Will be back.

We rented one of the cottages which was quaint. There was a path leading up to it so there was an incline. You may want to check out one of the hotel rooms if you have any difficulty walking. There was no TV, coffee pot or fridge in the room. Coffee was on the second floor of the hotel and you can use their fridge if you need one.It was relaxing sitting on the cottage porch in the evening. Breakfast is very good and very healthy. Parking was street and depending on the time of day could be difficult. Very nice place overall.

The Julian Gold Rush Hotel is charming and authentic, with a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes it a pleasure to stay. It’s located in the heart of Julian and within easy walking distance of all the shops and restaurants, which makes exploring the town incredibly convenient. The included breakfast is quite delicious and a wonderful way to start the day. While the rooms on the upper floors are on the smaller side, they add to the fun, cozy experience. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily stay here again.

From the moment we entered the Julian Gold Rush Hotel we were treated like family. The interior is warm and cozy with a stunning attention to detail. The room was quaint and comfortable. The parlor was breathtaking and open for the Hotel guests to freely mingle. The selection of board games and books was amazing. I would whole heartedly recommend a stay.

We've stayed here before. I love the nostalgia of this hotel. It takes you waaaayyy back. No TVs is a plus. It keeps the kids off technology. We enjoyed the time playing board games and reading books.
