"Accommodation is fine. Breakfast menu is a selection of fried, unhealthy or coated in butter. Needs to be better to compete with other local providers"

"Liked the garden, but it needs a little C&A... Disabled car parking near to our room (No.5) was an excellent bonus. Breakfast was excellent but a bit expensive. Staff were all very courtious and helpful. Direct booking rather than via an agency is preferred. We will certainly be recomending the Lion to our friends and relations and using you again next time we are in the area. "We stayed in a twin room .beds comfortable but room very narrow. No mirror to do hair.toilet roll holder broken. Friendly staff in restaurant, lovely food. Not much disabled parking which made things difficult. Lovely treatments in spa."

"We had a very warm welcome from the friendly staff and were shown to the room which was clean and bright. The food that evening was excellent, and as it was a warm evening we spent a pleasant time sitting outside with our drinks afterwards. Continental breakfast was served promptly at 8 am and the addition of fresh strawberries and blueberries was a definite plus! Check in / check out was swift and efficient. "Clean comfortable room. We had a snack at the claret jug bar which was good. Breakfast good choices and plentiful. Would stay again"

"Had a great stay here, it had everything from great food , friendly staff and a well equipped gym and pool. To top it off for us, it’s dog friendly too! All the staff were super helpful and attentive to our needs, from reception to bar and gym staff. Everyone made us feel so welcome, even the gym members. "Lovely, well maintained Victorian building with staff who go the extra mile to be welcoming and helpful. Parking is available though limited. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with roomy en-suite baths. There is a lot of traffic on the nearby roads, so bring earplugs if you're sensitive to noise."

"Room was okay but small. The mattress was amazingly comfortable albeit the wooden bed frame was a little creaky. The walls are paper thin and the doors closing and opening extremely noisy so not as restful a break as the location demands"

"Where do I start we got to the hotel on the first night go to the room to find there was no bedding for the kids we got charged for breakfast the next day for the kids the staff are useless the pool was closed by 7pm even tho is stated it was open till 9pm all the carpets in the hall way were taped down or ripped up the place is a joke for the price we paid"
