The location is in an ideal location close enough to walk to to all the shops and restaurants.We will be booking our winter stay there soon."

"Charm and location. The room we stayed in was truly like being home (we live in an 1892 Victorian) and we instantly fell in love with the decor. Unlike the "brand name" lodgings that we've become accustomed to The Powder House was the antithesis of the sterile institutional cookie cutter banality. The "staff" was charming, beyond hospitable, and very proud of the quality of the experience created for the quests. "The location was close to the historic places we wanted to visit, as well as the restaurants and bars. An easy walk to it all. A friendly and helpful staff, and a delicious and plentiful breakfast! We loved sitting out on the balcony in the late evening to pleasantly unwind after a busy day."

"Room and a hotel was very neat. Excellent location and veiw. Staff went above and beyond. Only complaint is lack of typical hotel amenities like ice machines and vending machines. Parking was inconvenient but location makes up for it."

We stayed in the 'light green' portion, with river-facing room on the second floor, with a beautiful view of the Bridge of Lions, and all the boat going by, (and the often present 'pirate ship') . Staff was wonderful. The Vale parking folks were super fast and the bartenders were great. Walking distance to tons of restaurants and shopping. Don't look elsewhere. "It is a beautiful hotel with very comfy bed. The food at their restaurant is excellent. Walk is about 1-2 blocks to historic downtown. The only complaint is it can be noisy."

"Bar staff were outstanding. Parking is 2.5 blocks away so that was a negative if you have luggage. Room was beautiful but window air conditioning was not good. Room was uncomfortable and hot. No refrigeration or place for luggage in room. Hotel was under construction maintenance unbeknownst to us so noisy and inconvenient. Comes with complimentary breakfast per check in paperwork however we were charged full price after letting staff know we were guests."

"I had a wonderful five night stay here. The location is convenient but in a quiet area. Parking is included and an easy walk down a block and around the corner. I parked my car and never moved it. Everything is very clean and tidy. The staff is very helpful with all arrangements. The guests were all lovely and shared some good ideas about things to do and see. The real reason to stay here I think is the breakfasts! Lots of healthy creative flair! If you’re a foodie this may be the place...
