Omena hotel has a good location. It was very clean; room was big and comfortable. It was my first experience using code to enter the building. It wasn't given access to internet; another guest helps me. Otherwise, I enjoyed it and will recommend Omena hotel to my friends.

Wonderful location in the center of the city. Gave five star originally but really missing personal touch and hello from the receptionist. Room is clean and everything what you might need is there. Would be nice to have a temperature control. Overall, it’s good for quick stop the walk around Helsinki.

The location was very convenient, near all the public transportation. There's a very good Vietnamese Restaurant outside of the hotel. We didn't like is the window doesn't open. No ventilation. Also, on the last morning, we went out to get coffee and came back 15 minutes before checked out and the code didn't work anymore. Luckily, another customer let us in using their keys. Tried to contact the management and they didn't respond. We would have been late catching the ferry.

We stayed for one night during a long stopover between flights. The location is fantastic — very close to the central station, which makes it easy to reach the airport, and within walking distance of several major attractions. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but it has all the necessary facilities and everything we needed for a comfortable short stay.

Cons; The room/hotel is basic, please note that there are is no staff on site, thus if you have any issues with checking in you are on your own to figure it out. However the rate reflects these items. Also the windows do not open, and you can not adjust the temperature of the room. Pros: The hotel is located close to the train station. The room is large/spacious.

For a cheap one-night or short term stay, Omena offers a very convenient central location near the Kamppi metro/tram stop and shopping center, with basic amenities, smooth self-check in and self-admission. Do be aware that this is a staffless hotel, so make sure to keep your phone charged and/or the door code written down. There is also a billiard bar downstairs, open until 5 AM on most weekdays, with occasional rowdiness outside. Probably not the first choice if you are traveling with children, but for adult budget travelers with realistic expectations, it’s good value for the money. The only issue during my last stay here was that the shower basin was quite slow to drain, and a lack of surfaces to put down bathroom products, which in both cases constitute only minor inconveniences.

Good budget hotel

Omena hotel was very central and overall it was a nice stay. The code didn't always work the first time it was put in (even though the light was green) and there were a few stains in the bathroom. But overall the stay was exactly what you need in a hotel and their communication was great throughout

There is only one power socket in the room and that is way too high up the wall. Had to use the 2 chairs in the room to put my stuff on and use the other as a bedside table. Very quiet and warm as it was 2 degrees outside. Microwave a handy bonus. Easy access as long as you keep note of entry code as you need the number to enter the building , use the lift and enter your room.

Overall a nice experience in a budget hotel with zero service staff. I notice that near 12pm check out time we are not allowed to come into the property when someone is already in the room. It is nicely situated near many shopping malls.

The perfect budget option in downtown Helsinki. The room was a good size, coffee and a refrigerator were very welcome. The beds were comfortable and it was nice having two luggage racks. Our only complaint was that the windows don’t open for fresh air and the room was stuffy and too warm overnight, in spite of it being quite cold outside. Rooms should have a fan or at least some way to control the temperature.

Was a bit concerned about the whole “no reception/well text you a code” but it worked out great. You use the code to get in the building, elevator, and your room so actually it felt quite safe. Location was fantastic. Room was bigger than most in Europe.

Basic but enough

Convenient location for a short-term stay. Everything you need for a small fee. The only minus is the safety instruction sheet on the wall that glows in the dark. Very annoying.
