Great hotel located very conveniently near the port, as well as Motomachi and Mount Hakodate area! Only 15-20 min to downtown core for the morning market as well. The hotel also rents bikes for 1200 yen for a full day so we biked around the city and we highly recommend it! Would recommend staying here!

I enjoyed my stay here. It’s right on the pier so it was a nice area to stay in too. The only negative was there were stairs down into the lobby and also up to my room. I had a big suitcase so no lift/ramp mad it difficult but the staff were happy to help me carry my suitcase up and down the stairs.

There wasn’t elevator for this property, but staff helped us carry our luggage to our rooms. The rooms are very large for Japanese standards, as at least one wing was repurposed from an old bank branch.

The check-in process was a bit difficult as their check in machine did not pull my phone number and the confirmation number they had was not at all similar to the one I received from Hotels.com, which was frustrating. After that, it was okay--but there was no microwave in the room, which was a little frustrating. Otherwise great stay!

The staff were excellent here, very helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to help us organize transportation to our next destination.The hotel is clean and modern. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We were a little sad that the restaurant was fully booked for breakfast, so we had to get coffee at the Starbucks across the street. The food looked good!

Gem in the heart of Hakodate

Staying inside of a renovated bank building in the old downtown with a cool vibe and super high ceilings was fantastic. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was also great with good water pressure and hot water. The staff was super friendly and helpful - plus the hotel has bikes on site for rental which a great way to explore the area. You can also ride the streetcar to get from here to the 5-star bastion fortress park and other areas. The red brick warehouse tourist / shopping area is just a block away. The ropeway to get a view from the nearby mountain, and many interesting churches are also within easy walking distance. Highly recommended. Although the hotel shows a bit of minor scuffs in the rooms, it just provides character to an otherwise great choice.

Immediately upon arriving, I was warmly welcomed by the front desk and made to feel like a priority with their proactive and efficient help. The whole process for my check in took less than five minutes and the front desk spoke perfect English which was a breath of fresh air. Anytime I walked past the front desk, they were attentive and would greet me warmly. The location is so convenient! Everything is within walking distance and has two Hakodate food specialties Lucky Pierrot and Hasaegawa yakibentos just a few steps away. The capsules are well maintained and clean with a lock box for storage of valuables. The bathrooms were cleaned multiple times a day and my favorite part was the showers! Typically in Japanese hostels/capsule hotels, they have the same very small shower unit. But here, the showers are spacious as well as having a nice area for you to undress and store your belongings with a tiered storage unit. Overall, a wonderful experience and I will be returning on my next trip to Hakodate.

The room was very safe and quiet, which made for a good night's sleep. Although the room was shared, my privacy was well protected. The shower and toilet were separated, locked, and cleaned regularly. There was also a smart toilet available.
