"Beware this Hotel is VERY strict with their policies! Had a change of flight and they would NOT accommodate the change. Paid for two hotel rooms, begged to change our reservation to the day before our original booking as we had to leave a day earlier due to unforseen conflict, (well in advance..4 months) After numerous emails, virtual chats, sending our flight itinerary with the change the hotel would not budge. Under no circumstances would the hotel even try to discuss options. needless to say when we arrived at the hotel on our original reservation (the day we were now departing Athens) we asked to please try to have our rooms available for early check-in just to freshen up before our flight back home. Was told no rooms were available, could have one room ready by 11, took my phone numbr, I assumed me giving phone number they would call to confirm a room was actually ready. Never received a call. Went to hotel at 2pm our driver was there to transfer to airport. The Manager VANA seemed to have an attitude when we arrived at the Hotel on the 14th and seemed to know who we were from the MANY correspondences back and forth to beg for a change in reservation. We were informed breakfast was on the rooftop but we didn't have in included in our reservation so it would be 22pp, we had a 20 percent off with our reservation for food/bev. but they did not apply the discount. Pd. 500.00 USD but never set foot in a room, book ATHENS GATE, fabulous location and wonderful staff!"

"Very nice hotel. Friendly staff. Breakfast was quite good. Rooftop dining was lovely. hotel was well located. Our room was a good size and clean and well appointed. Just dark as the only window faced an interior courtyard. But overall met our needs. Great value for the room rate. "

"The accomodation is located in Kypseli which is a very cool location just outside Athens which is personally my favourite city in Europe. You can reach Kypseli easily by public transport but also no issue with getting Uber or Bolts and then its also easy to get to other areas from there. The apartment is a nice block with 12 other apartments all tastefully decorated with a bright modern decor. The apartment was clean and the bathroom and shower very nice. There was also a small balcony with a very easy to operate electronic blinds and Bay windows which opened out on to the balcony. The matress was Kingsize and very comfortable. Maybe if there could have just been left a little cutlery and plates as it is a self service apartment this would help. Its basically feels like a hotel room but as an apartment which is fine but this small detail can help. The Wifi was easily available , it could run a little better and powerfully, but easily passable. But overall very nice and it was also very quiet, I wasnt disturbed at all. I got a lot done in the 4 days, went for good meals and met with everyone zi needed to. Thanks for making it such a great trip and it was very reasonably priced. I would stay again. "

"First, i have to say, the receptionist was very kind and helpful. But the hotel is in no way a 4 stars hotel, not even a 2 stars. I've been in small villages in Germany with nothing to see but a castle and hotels were way better than this one, hands down. The room was not ready at 2:30pm but that was ok with me. What was not ok with me was the hairs all over the bathroom floor, sink and bathtub. Totally disgusting. But i wasn't going to complain about that if everything else would have been ok, which was not the case. I was there one night , after a concert, and i couldnt rest from the outside noise. Balcony door is probably old, doesn't insulate at all, all night traffic, it was terrible. And everything in that room was terrible old. A kettle but not even a bag of tea. At least the breakfast was ok. But i wouldnt go there not even paid. My question is: how something like this gets 4 starts? In what universe?"

"This hotel is fabulous. Clean, tidy and so welcoming. Highly recommend and we have had an amazing time. The staff go above and beyond to help and are a credit to the hotel. Thank you!"
