Complaint against the Hotel which collected extra charges of twenty Malaysian ringgit (RM20.00). Such charges should have been collected by Expedia when I booked the hotel room. Complaint against Expedia which does not follow up my complaint even after I have sent the scan copy of receipt of those extra charges via email. Of course, the receipt was obtained only after the severe disputes with Hotel. The Hotel is unreasonable.

Mehr ein Hostel, aber zweckmäßig

Das Merlin Hotel ist einfach und zweckmäßig für ein oder zwei Nächte. Die Matrazen und Handtücher dünn und durch das Gemeinschaftsbad für die Zimmer ohne eigenes Bad ist es relativ laut, da es ständig genutzt wird und die meisten Gäste die Türen nicht leise schließen können. Die Rezeption hat leider unseren Weckruf vergessen. Das Hotel liegt mitten in Little India und auch die Backpackermeile Love Lane ist fussläufig gut zu erreichen. Max. 10 Gehminuten (auch mit Koffer) zum Swettenham Pier, von wo die Fähren nach Langkawi starten.

Great find, clean and comfortable and good value

Merlin guesthouse was great, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, they checked each day if we wanted our room cleaned. The room was a good size, with a comfortable bed. Bathroom was a wet room, but kept very clean. Location was good, short walk to many bars/restaurants and the hop on hop off tourist bus had a stop just round the corner.

Buono ma non aspettatevi lusso

Buono per il rapporto qualitá prezzo. Splendida vista camera deluxe. Buona anche la pulizia ma... in 3 gg non han cambiato gli asciumani e non ci han dato carta igenica pulita.. che in un 3 stelle é quello che ti aspetti. Il buffet buono ma orientato piú alla colazione asiatica (riso pollo zuppe, etc...) se prenotate qui affittate un mezzo se no siete bloccati in mezzo al nulla, solo un centro commerciame molto turistico in zona. Altra nota. La piscina la puliscono di giorno quando é aperta con gli ospiti.. non si capisce perché!

Convenient location

This is an OK hotel - nothing outstanding about it and nothing really disappointing about it. The location is convenient and quiet. The staff friendly and helpful. The room is generally Comfortable and OK. There was no minibar but there was a cold water dispenser in the hallway. Bed was comfortable enough. Internet connection was OK. The hotel didn't appear to have any lifts, but the guest rooms seemed to all be situated on the first and second floors, so not too bad really.

Disappointed

First impression was feeling a little disappointed. I'm not sure what the difference is between a hotel and a hostel, but this definitely felt like the latter. The reception is found on the first floor up narrow stairs by the side of the restaurant kitchen. The staff are really nice and very welcoming, and the room was fine - I'm a traveller, so I am perfectly comfortable in basic hotels (but after Thailand, I thought I would get more for the price). No, what gives this hotels poor rating was that I was awoken in the early hours by people (shouting or playing video games). The hotel responded well to my complaint after the first night, but when my sleep was disturbed the second night I gave up and moved to another hotel. I can tolerate a lot with accommodation, but can't stay in a place where I can't get a good night's sleep.

Merlin is Clean.

Merlin Hotel has attached shower which is important to our convenience. The entrance is narrow and not so inviting but the room is clean and comfortable. Very satisfactory.

Worst Hotel ever! Bedbugs, dirty and smelly!! You can stay at the big hotel Bellavista at almost the same price!

Eenvoudige accomodatie op goede locatie

Eenvoudig, schoon, zeer kleine badkamer. Locatie prima. Ontbijten kan lastig zijn omdat de meeste winkels rond 11 uur open gaan en ontbijt niet inbegrepen is.
