"It was quite cold in my room"

"Breakfast was very ordinary. Jazz lounge was fun - good music, decent dessert. But worse was the staff, especially during check out. A) front desk wouldn’t pick up the phone so we requested reservations to allow late check out which they did till 1230 pm. However, apparently front desk did not get the update despite reservations lady confirming it’s on the system. Anyway, reception sent someone to our room at 1130 as original check out time was 11 am and they came banging at the door - not a knock but banging at the door. Super rude. Anyway, we didn’t bother staying till 1230 and just left. Zero regret by the lady at reception when we told her at check out. I had her call the reservations lady who was at least apologetic. Would not stay here again or recommend anyone. Cordial staff is very important. A 3 star hotel even feels like a 5 star with staff and service. "

"The staff at the reception was very accommodating & the check-in process was very easy. My room was upgraded to a King size bed. The room is very spacious & clean. The location is very close to many eatery & walking distance to many tourists areas. I very much enjoyed my stay here & recommend it to anyone planning to visit Ottawa. Bon Voyage & have a wonderful vacation."

2/10 Terrible

"Red flag when we entered and the lobby revolving door had wood blocks bolting it to the floor so it was inoperable. Then dirty carpets in the elevator lobby and inside the elevator. Went up to our room and called about air conditioning not working. Were told the AC for the building was broken and wouldn't be fixed until tomorrow. It was 28 Celsius in our room. They offered and brought up two fans. One was not put together. Needed to open and attached the fan blades. Two rolls of toilet paper. One was used, half gone. The other roll was in wet packaging. Wanted to take a cold bath. The bath plug doesn't work and it would not hold water. We asked about the pool to cool off and were told it was closed for renovations. There was something on the mirror in the elevator all night. Maybe blood or a splattered tomato. Was all we could do to take a cold shower, and sleep without blankets with fans blowing on us all night. Left very early in the morning and will not be back I thought that a Wyndham location would be of some better standard. I do not know how this is even four star hotel"
