"The floors did not feel clean. It felt like there was dirt or debris on the floor. It wasn’t until my daughter started her shower that she noticed there was no shower curtain. I had to go down to front desk and ask for one. They got one right away but how could that have been forgotten. The staff was nice, though, and happily stored our luggage while we were out."

"a perfectly serviceable hotel close to the train and tons of food and shops. it’s clean and the staff is very helpful and sweet. it’s *loud* though, especially if your room faces Houston. the rooms are small, the bed is fine but not particularly comfortable. the linens are pretty terrible. all that said, I’d probably stay there again but ask for a room on the other side of building. it’s really convenient if you’re visiting to do stuff and not spend time in the room. it feels safe and has a cute roof deck and every person at the front desk was very sweet. it could really use 20% more attention to comfort, though."

"Room was dated, but ok. Walls are paper thin, so we started hearing everyone else's alarms at 4am. They didn't replenish the coffee pods. Asked twice at the front desk and they said it would be sent to the room, but never was sent."

"I booked the Allen Hotel for the first time online through Expedia. Let me tell you, the pictures are deceiving and need to be updated as well as the hotel itself. I got a room with a king size bed. They gave me a room on the first floor which had some kind of run down restaurant or bar attached to it that had a door that led to my room. Both doors to the room and that run down bar/ restaurant didn't lock at all. I asked to switch rooms because I didn't feel safe. They said I would be charged an extra 25 dollars a night to switch rooms, which they called upgraded. I got to the room and it was a room with two double sized beds and a much smaller room then the one prior. So I was being charged for a down grade in actuality. There was a good sized booger on the wall. The wall paper was old and peeling off the walls. There was a blood stain on the blanket and the sheets had a hole in it. The blankets smelt and felt dirty as well. While I was there they were also working on the elevator which was a bunch of loud banging. I had to use the staircase to go up and down to the fourth floor with my things. I dont recommend this hotel and I wouldn't book it again ever."
