I was travelling with my dog and booked a non-smoking first floor room because of my mobility issues. I got to the room and the smell of smoke and deodorizer was overwhelming, and I started to have an asthma attack. I called the desk and explained I couldn't stay and she checked me out, and refunded my room charge. The person at check-in was great. As a solo senior female traveller I also didn't feel safe; the outside door didn't require a guest key for admittance (was ajar and wasn't kept locked), the room had a physical key entry that didn't work a deadbolt, and the room window didn't lock.

The friendly front desk attendant and decent water pressure sums up the good about this place. Unless you truly need to stay in Devon, spend the $20 more and drive the 15km to Nisku/Leduc for a cleaner, better smelling stay.
