"I rarely write reviews but I needed to express our extreme disappointment at the standard of the Rose and Crown Hotel in Tonbridge. The external elevations are very tired but when inside it gets far worse. As with the outside, paint is peeling off everywhere and it looks as though no maintenance or upgrading has been carried out for many, many years. However, the worst thing is the lack of cleanliness. "It situated right in the town centre. A bit chaotic. The bathroom and toilet had no lock and male and female was sharing, that was stressful having to keep an eye on the door."

"Nice hotel, an older building with a more modern extension. Professional friendly and service oriented staff everywhere. We just had an anniversary night away and thoroughly enjoyed it. Dinner was excellent and well served and waited on. Our bedroom wasn’t air conditioned and that would have been a bonus as it was in the 30s outside, however the fan in the room was a life saver. Other rooms do have aircon so it’s worth asking."

"The room was small but very comfortable especially the bed which was perfect for a relaxing sleep. Staff were amazing and I couldn’t fault their kindness and eagerness to help. It was very dog friendly but it would have been nice to have had something available in the room for my dog such as a water bowl etc but that is a minor point"

"Historic character inn with rooms right in the centre of town. Parking is available in nearby municipal pay and display car parks - but do check with the hotel beforehand for details of which to park in as the closest is a short stay with a maximum stay of only 4 hours. There is a separate long stay car park within walking distance. Bedrooms have been stylishly brought up to twenty first century standards. Excellent breakfast. Highly recommended."
