"The welcome at reception was friendly and helpful. Our room was a decent size and dog friendly. Hotel is like a rabbit warren but well sign posted. Comfortable bed and efficient shower, decor was a bit tired and the lift was an old style metal gate which relied on other customers closing the gate after use so others could use it. "Firstly, the only reason I haven't given this hotel a terrible score is because of the staff. They were friendly, welcoming and did their best to help. Unfortunately, The Devonshire Arms was a real disappointment considering the £180 we paid for one night. I genuinely wouldn't recommend paying more than £100 per night. The photos on the website make the hotel look much better than it actually is, and I wish we'd travelled a little further and booked elsewhere. The room was clean, but...
