"Booked here as a stopover on the way to Thoresby hall from Scotland as it was only a short drive off the motorway. We booked bed and breakfast at a very good price and we also had an evening meal. Both meals were great and the room even had an air con unit which was fantastic in the hot weather. The place was great value for money and we will certainly be back, can't thank the staff enough who were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Well done and we hope to be back soon."

"A warm greeting followed by being taken to our room (room 4) which was a large well furnished room on the front of the property. Super quality linen and a comfy bed. We enjoyed a drink outside looking over the Market place. In the evening we ate in the restaurant - booking definitely advisable. My husband had the steak pie and chips which he said was the most delicious pie he had eaten in years ....high praise indeed from a pie lover ! Plenty of choice at breakfast We would return if we...

"A lovely inn situated in a peaceful village but very handy for visiting the attractions within York and the North Yorkshire National park. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and our room was very clean and comfortable. We can recommend the food and drinks on offer in the air conditioned restaurant, both on the evening we stayed and for breakfast the following day. Top marks."
