"Beyond being as convenient and definitely more affordable than another on airport chain, City Lodge was a terrific choice for our layovers (both coming and going) from Johannesburg. Restaurant has a range of options (buffet and menu) that are tasty and don't break the bank. Hydration stations were a welcome sight. And there are plenty of comfortable seating areas if you have time to kill between checkin/checkout and arrival/departure. Very glad I found this property and would definitely stay...

"The property is a 3 minute drive from the airport but it's not walkable, so you must take one of their shuttles which drives every 15 minutes. The hotel itself is nice but the heater in my room wasn't working."

"I called for help and front desk promised to come but never showed up. The electric cattle wasn't working."

"The room was clean, even accessible amidst night - due to a 4 hours plane delay. The staff was utmost friendly and I will come back definitely again."

"Dining room staff were not good at taking an order for an evening meal and following up that the meal had been delivered to the table. The vegetables and fries were cool indicating that perhaps the meal was waiting around. There were not many smiles either. Conversely the reception staff were excellent. they helped with changing the room to a twin and to help organise a tour for the following morning. They also had lovely smiles as did the breakfast staff. Excellent omelette."

"I booked on Expedia but there must have been a glitch in the system.The booking reflected one instead of two occupants. That meant that only my husband could have breakfast. Even through the room was expensive the staff didn’t try to resolve the issue so I could have breakfast. When we went to grab a Bolt downtown for 200 Zar, the front door staff tried discouraging us saying it could be dangerous and wanted to hook us up with a taxi for 600 Zar.
