"Unfortunately in this case you get what you pay for. Whilst this hotel was the cheapest around, it certainly felt like it once you stepped inside. We were told 24 hours before our stay that there would be no food available at the hotel, which didn’t leave us anytime to cancel and book a different one somewhere else. Annoyingly it looks like this has been the case for a while. The pictures had shown the hotel overlooking a lake/large pond but what was there was just a remnant of the pond which was now dirty and full of rubbish. Our room had a window at the end of our bed which was looking directly into another 4 rooms, so we had to keep the curtains closed. Our bathroom had mould on the walls, and despite having an ironing board, there was no iron. The beds have spring mattresses which feel like they have seen better days and the heating came on around 5pm so the room was very cold before that. I will say the shower had great pressure as did the toilet, but the walls were so thin we could hear the neighbours doing everything in their bathroom. Staff were polite but felt very uninterested in our presence. I feel the charm this hotel once had is long gone. On the plus side it is walking distance from The Wrekin trail and the ercall trail with free parking, so ideal if you just want somewhere to sleep inbetween treks. "

"The room was to a good standard, clean and with decent supplies. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast had a good variety to choose from. Two negatives were the lift being out of order all weekend and the fact that we now have to pay to use the leisure facilities, a factor that will make us book elsewhere in the future. "

"Unfortunately, upon arrival, it became immediately apparent that the property bore little resemblance to what was advertised, and the experience caused significant distress to my family. On arrival, the front of the hotel appeared derelict and closed, with no visible signage, no other guest vehicles, and a police van parked outside. After driving around the side of the building we eventually located the reception entrance, however we were alarmed by groups of intoxicated individuals loitering around the entrance, and we did not feel safe even parking our car. As we entered the hotel, two police officers were leaving the premises, which further heightened our concerns. Despite these issues, we proceeded to check in and went to view our allocated rooms (319 and 325). While walking up to the third floor, the corridors and stairwells had extremely strong and unpleasant odours. Upon entering the rooms, the following issues were evident.One room had a broken shower, with the shower head wrapped around the bath taps One room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke The rooms felt unclean and poorly maintained The rooms were clearly not representative of the photographs advertised on Expedia I returned to reception to request alternative rooms. Unfortunately, only one alternative room was available, which we gave to our daughter as she felt extremely unsafe. While returning to our car to collect our luggage, we encountered a visibly intoxicated woman with blood on her clothing"

"I think It was amazing (over average) but I think there needs to be more tables in the breakfast buffet.Also the chef was very unhelpful for example a lady in front asked if she could have a fried egg without the yolk, and the chef said no.The lady asked why and he said he was too busy to cook.Then she asked when he will be free, he said never. And walked away,"

"This would probably have been a totally fine stay except there was about 50 members of the same family staying there, maybe 75, and their kids were marauding round the hotel leaving trash, upturned chairs, broken glasses etc all over the place. The bar was a no go area because they'd taken over, so loud. Not enough staff to police the bad behavior or clean up and the parents were doing nothing. Pool was absolutely rammed and not a place my kids wanted to hang out - tiny and busy, despite booking a slot. No fridge in the room! Wouldn't stay again."
