Quaint hotel, but inconvenient as renovated older building with no lift so hard work to get luggage to 2nd floor. Restaurant in separate building, private parking difficult to find on arrival. Great restaurant, lovely meal.

The hotel rooms are recently renovated and are beautifully decorated. Comfortable beds, heated floor in the bathrooms, beautiful views from many of the rooms. Very friendly and helpful personnel. Delicious breakfast. The 2-star restaurant was however a disappointment: accompaniments that did not match, an unpleasant burnt taste in some dishes, undercooked fish, overpriced wines.

Hotel was really nice but the room was in a separate part of hotel from car park but they helped us with parking and luggage, so if infirm you should think about this as quite a few steps although the staff are very helpful. We had dinner at a restaurant La Maisonetta recommended by receptionist which was very good. Didn’t eat breakfast.

Great place to stay

We arrived a fee hours early and the staff helped us unlosd our car. The patking is offsite, about a 5 minute walk in a secured area. One the car was parked, our luggage was secured until our room was ready. We did not have to carry our luggage, they brought it to pur room. This is very posh, with great service. It conveniently located in the heart of Chateauneuf du Pape. Along with recommendations from the hotel, we experienced an outstanding wine tasting experience.

This hotel could not be better placed in terms of location. It’s truly right in the middle of the little village, with cafés, restaurants, shops, and wine tasting caves just steps away. They also have parking right around the corner which was very convenient. The room itself was relatively small for a two room suite, but was comfortable and nicely appointed. It’s fine for two people but using the optional sofa bed for a third would make it cramped. The view from each room was lovely and it was very quiet. The shower and bathroom were also somewhat small, but more than sufficient and had nice finishes. The shower worked well and the towels were soft. The little Nespresso was a nice touch and convenient. I only had one minor complaint, which was the air conditioning in my room stopped working properly and their solution was to have it be controlled by the frontdesk. Obviously, that is not optimal for personal comfort as you might want to change the temp. But again it was a minor issue as they did get the air conditioning working again, so that was a plus given how hot it was. Overall, a nice place to stay in Chateauneuf du Pape.

Sent by Copilot: Mere Germaine Hotel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, France I recently stayed at the beautiful Mere Germaine Hotel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and I have nothing but great things to say about it. The hotel itself is stunning, with breathtaking views from the terrace. I stayed in a two-story room with a mezzanine and a terrace, which added to the charm and comfort of my stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. Breakfasts were a highlight, featuring delicious fresh breads and other tasty options. I also treated myself to a massage and enjoyed some time in the jacuzzi. While the jacuzzi could have been a bit hotter, I didn’t ask the staff to adjust it, so it’s possible they could have made it warmer. Parking was conveniently located about half a block away, but I found that I didn’t need my car much at all. The hotel is within walking distance of several vineyards, where I enjoyed tours and tastings. Additionally, the ruins and numerous restaurants and wine bars are just a short walk away, making it easy to explore the area on foot. Overall, I highly recommend Mere Germaine Hotel for its beautiful setting, excellent service, and convenient location. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

I don’t write reviews very often, but felt compelled to do so. Highly ranked hotel as it’s beautiful, but ranked last of all hotels we stayed at in France for the last 10 days despite being the most expensive. Location is central but best to drive to wineries as none are close enough to walk to. The pool they show online does not exist. The AC will only go to 24 degrees as they are waiting on a part. Key fob did not work and had to wait over an hour for someone to come and open it for us. Despite they giving us a bottle of wine and olive oil, very kind, we felt a discount should be given and none was except to pay for our breakfast. Disappointing and would not recommend with the price we paid.
