Way better than expected. Some of the reviews mentioned the upkeep and I actually thought it was in pretty good shape. It had character and beautiful architecture, and the pool was also very nice. The room wasn't ready when we arrived at 17:30 but they were able to rectify that within about 15 minutes.

I like the property because it has a serene feel to it and it's quiet the property is older it definitely needs upgrades from new screens to shades the beds are old and firm the bedding smells old as well the best thing about the property was the night guard Mr Zacharias he went above and beyond to assist me when the internet went down the two ladies that were in receptionist did not even make an attempt to correct the situation neither did the manager he was nowhere to be found the two nights I was there and on the third day I left he still didn't reach out I reached out to him because the internet was down. I'm only giving the place a three star because of the friendly gentleman.

The property location and D’Shanti restaurant was beautiful. The building and especially the pool needs repairs and maintenance. The pool was cloudy with hundreds of tiles missing. The building has deferred maintenance. With a bit of attention this is a beautiful property.
A lot of reviews talked about a sewage smell. Well, I had that room. They were very good about getting rid of the smell that day, and it did not come back. I was there for 6 days and 5 nights. They never came to clean the room, even when I asked on the third day. I never received clean towels when I asked for them, also, on the third day. I ended up washing them myself in the free laundry room in the basement. Other than that, the staff were helpful despite the language barrier. Having a night watchman there was comforting, and he was very helpful. The other guests were friendly, and I got invited to their "Happy Hour" on the gazebo. I would probably go back because of the price, but knowing now that I will be treated as a tenant and not a guest.
This is not a full service hotel, so if you are expecting fresh daily change of linens, etc., this would not be your best choice.

Beautiful grounds
I loved the setting at the Capital O. We had a 2 bedroom suite, pet friendly room and it was wonderful! I did buy my own broom to clean as no one offered to do that. The restaurant across the garden was excellent and the area convenient to everything Ajijic..
You get what you pay for. If you’re just looking for a cheap place to sleep then I recommend the property. But I found a bar soap and a used bottle of shampoo in the shower from the previous guests. Also there was no A .C. Or hot water in the shower. Also the mosquitos were bad, we got bit all night. They were coming in through the restroom vent.
