"We attended at the hotel on a Sunday afternoon, where we found out that they don’t serve meals Sunday at all. ( No staff).
But to be fair, No restaurants or cafes were open either owing to it being Sunday. (this included the town where the cafes and restaraunt’s don’t open till around 8 pm.
But right next door to the hotel is a garage that sells fresh baked bread. Cakes. Packed meat slices. Cheese and drinks. More than enough to see us through.
The male person who was on duty at the hotel was really helpful and told us that although the bar was closed, he would open up just for us, so we didn’t have to go without. ( there is also a coffee machine in every room).
This is what you call real customer service.
Again, the rooms were spotlessly clean. Very modern, and very comfortable.
If you do go on a Sunday and you want to go to the town. It is literally 3 mins drive and just park in one of the main car parks and walk up to the Plaza Mayor where most of the restaurants and bars are. (You can’t drive into the plaza).
Or ask the staff which they think is the best place to go.
They are all very helpful.
Already in the process of booking again in September."
"Magnifique bâtisse et chambre confortable , bons équipements même si une bouteille d’eau de bienvenue ou une bouilloire serait un plus , petit déjeuner très ordinaire pour le prix et personnel moins avenant qu’ailleurs "
"This place is rather grand and cavernous - but feels more like a place for conferences now (there's no bar to relax in), and the wide staircase and long stretches of corridors made it feel like The Overlook Hotel in The Shining. Despite having very few customers, we ended up in a room with a view overlooking what looked like the staff kitchen and cleaning room, and the central core of the hotel (basically all the metal shafts, etc.), where water was constantly dripping, echoing all night. Saying that we enjoyed the weirdness, and the staff were excellent, as was the buffet breakfast, which was included."
"I gave this property 10 out of 10. If I could give it more, I would, because it deserves it and it was one of the nicest places I have stayed while walking the Camino de la Plata. Ceser could not have been more kind or helpful. He even offered to come and collect me because I was lost and had walked approx 4km past Grimaldo by mistake.
The location is great (right on the Camino de la Plata - despite me gettong lost). The room was warm, clean and very comfortable and simple but beautifully decorated. Would highly recommend. Thank you Cesar."
"Great choice at breakfast both fresh and freshly cooked. Almost everything homemade. The building has been converted to a really elegant hotel. The garden is a real bonus."
