"Just brilliant. Le Grand Monarque was recommended by a friend in the UK who stays there regularly. He really did us a favour as it is a fabulous and very interesting hotel with exceptional staff (especially Natalie on Reception). The parking is great value at €7 per night and the breakfast was delicious and nicely varied. Located in the centre of the small town of Azay-le-Rideu this hotel is an absolute gem. "

The staff were friendly and helpful in offering services and guidance with local sites of interest. The room and views were particularly lovely with water, courtyard, garden, mill, bridge, live geese, roosters, and ducks to add to the charming rustic site. View the pics! It is all very lovely!"

Le jardin est agréable, la chambre très fonctionnelle, avec de nombreuses prises et un bon éclairage. Le matelas est top, la pièce bien isolée, nous avons trop bien dormi, malgré l'absence de volet sur la porte fenêtre, mais avec le rideau occultant qui s'est avéré efficace. Rien à redire sur la propreté. Le petit-déjeuner était parfait, avec...
"I highly recommend this hotel! The resort and grounds are stunning, pristine, peaceful. The room was sparkling clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We ate dinner at the restaurant on site overlooking the pool. It was delicious. We had drinks and enjoyed the upper patio that also had great views. "
