"This hotel is very unique - in an old cardinal's residence located in Villeneuve just west across the river from Avignon. Despite being in a substantial old stone building full of character, the rooms were very comfortable, clean, etc. The hotel also has a beautiful garden area with terrace overlooking the river. "A great quite location super conveniently located just outside St. Michel Gate, so it worked very well as a retreat from the Festival. The host was very warm, personable and accommodating. A jacuzzi in the room was a great amenity after long days of walking on cobblestone, and the living room was a comfortable place to get work done during the days."
