This was a really cool loft in old town Prague! Well appointed. Very convenient for exploring this area. Janos was my contact and he was always in contact ensuring I got in and even making recommendations on enjoying the area!

The room was very well located and was reasonable for the price. The bathroom was a bit small but had a good shower and plenty of hot water. The bedroom/living area was less good. The bed was on a raised platform which had a couple of awkward steps up. The closet doors didn't fit and were stuck. The bed and pillows were not very comfortable and the bedding and towels were thin and poor quality. The kitchen was well equipped but no coffee or milk was provided. I never met the owner but he sent very helpful instructions about self check in and building access. The building had a lift and the room faced an internal courtyard so it was fairly quiet. Although the room wasn't perfect I would stay there again.

The apartment is in a GREAT location and it's SUPER AWESOME. Very very clean and safe. Janos met us as soon as we arrived and he was super helpful and very communicative and clear with all directions... all went super smoothly. The apartment is incredible. TONS OF ROOM for the three of us... and the apartment sleeps 8! Thank you so much Janos!

Our arrival and check-in instructions were timely and accurate. The owner was available and helpful. The apartment was clean and well-equipped. The building is older but in a great location. A reasonably priced alternative to a hotel near transit ,restaurants and grocery stores.

Great Apartment

Firstly, the apartments are in a fantastic location close to transport links, restaurants and attractions. The apartment itself was massive and had all the amenities we could ask for. Communication with Janos was exceptional. I am a frequent traveller and rate my stay at Katona very highly indeed.

Great location. While there was no front desk, the host was very communicative and helpful. They even helped to arrange a car to pick us up at the airport for a very reasonable fee.

Location location location one of the hottest spots in Budapest. Short walk to every sight and museums you wanted to see Longest walk was 20 min for a 70 yo. Caution is in the details on site parking is couple blocks away in public parking garage.and washer was damaged for long time min for a 70yo.

Great location and spacious studio. There are some simple things cleanliness wise that could be improved. The underside of the kitchen cabinet is accessible and not properly cleaned, either close it off or clean it. The bed sheets are in need or refreshing and it costs very little to provide a fresh dishwashing sponge for new guests. With a few tweaks it could be a top review.

The apartment was really clean and tidy in an amazing, central part of Budapest. Everything was either within walking distance of an easy tram or metro ride such as Heroes Square and the Main Train Station. The host, Janos, was fantastic to deal with and super responsive which was great. Amazing spot with great value!

We stayed twice on our 3 week trip. 4 nights at the beginning and 1 night at the end. We were booked in two different apartments, apartment nine for the four nights, and Apartment six for the one night. Each apartment was clean, area was safe, but the towels are very thin and small and the bed linens are worn, giving you the impression they may or may not have been recently washed, especially the duvet covers. The staff was very quick to respond to any questions we had, check-in was easy, early check-in was available, each apartment had an efficiency kitchen with the basic necessities, Apartment six had a dishwasher. Best apartments also had a washing machine. The apartment is in a great location to access transportation, shopping, eating, and walkable to the main tourist sites.

Location location location

Easy check in and check out. Very responsive hosts. Wonderful location. Apartment felt large and contained everything we needed. Many places to eat within walking distance. Grocery store and subway half a block away. Must mention excellent location again.

Very close to Hungarian restaurants and the sites

The location is excellent, very near really good Hungarian restaurants and within 15 minutes of all the main attractions in Pest. The owner, Janos, has excellent communication, with very easy to follow self check-in instructions. We are a family of 4 and were in Apartment 4 which is very spacious and warm. The only downside was the street noise in the master bedroom, with bins being emptied at 5am. I would still stay here again though - just take some ear plugs. It’s very good quality for the price.

The location of this property cant be beat, it felt safe and everything was a short walking distance away so as a solo female traveller it was excellent. However, the apt wasnt clean and was noticably dusty, felt like it had been mopped that day just before i got in but hadnt been used in a while, but still items hadnt been wiped down and freshened up at all. Im not generally picky about locations but must be clean safe and well located. Unfortunately not feeling clean was a major downside. Also the bedding, pillows, sheets, towels etc need to be changed, they were clean but felt too used and thin. And the bath mat was also quite dirty.

Quiet convenient unit

The apartment was located in a very convenient part of Budapest -- basically, right on the Danube and a block or two away from one of the bridges to cross the river. The unit is situated in a courtyard so was very quiet. The only "issue" I had was in the evening when I was sitting at the kitchen table on my iPad, the door opened and 2 guys in their 20s were there, obviously at the wrong unit. I just hadn't locked the door fully, but that was a bit weird. Also, I liked that the apartment had a full kitchen and the host provided coffee and cereal, which was appreciated.

The location is good and the flat itself was clean and spacious. However, I had booked a room with two queen beds but was given only one. This was partially resolved the next day with one queen and two single beds, but there was no prior communication (and I arrived late at night, which made it quite inconvenient) The host was kind and eventually helped, but only after I raised the issue. He could've been more proactive. He initially suggested it was my mistake as I didn't not tell him it wasn't a couple and that I needed two beds, though my Expedia booking clearly stated the room type. I also found it odd that payment was requested through an external link rather than via Expedia, but that's okay despite the risk. The building is quite old and resembles a modest tenement-style complex in its interior courts, with many small units and a somewhat chaotic atmosphere. While I can’t confirm anything, the environment around some neighbouring units felt questionable. Expedia only stepped in to help after I raised the issue of the incorrect room and mentioned potential legal action, which was frustrating. In short, while the flat has its positives, I wouldn’t recommend it. For a small difference in price, you can find better managed hotels nearby and avoid headaches.

Apt 12 was as it shows in the listing and actually more spacious than I expected. It was nice we could close the bedroom/living area door for our daughter to fall asleep while we did laundry and had a drink in the bathroom/kitchem area. The washer had a broken piece leaving sharp metal in there that we didn't notice before hand and it left pulls in many of our clothes that wont be able to be repaired. The property manager apologized for the issues. I am leaving this note so others will be aware in case it is not fixed before thwy arrive. They were very understanding when I let them know we accidentally broke a wine glass. The location is fantastic. Instructions were clear how to get in and they responded to all my random inquiries fairly quickly. It is a slightly run down looking courtyard you are facing, but you aren't there for the view. It is a bit older and basic, but great for the price.

Excellent check in details on how to access the apartment. The host Janos was also helpful giving me a heads up on the upcoming May 1 holiday when most businesses were closed except for restaurants and cafes. The apartment was missing a hairdryer and he came back the next morning to bring it to me. The apartment building is conveniently situated next to a very high end hotel, public transportation, supermarkets, cafes, bakeries, restaurants, you name it! Now come the bad parts...on my 2nd night there, a group of 4 or 3 people checked in. From 10pm to midnight, there were non stop loud noises coming from that apartment, which happened to be right next to mine. Lots of banging and knocking things around, loud laughing and talking, and smoking! The smoke got into my apartment because I had the window slightly open. Then while I was sleeping, I was awaken up by loud talking right outside my apartment, and smoking smell again. It was 3 something in the middle of the night! They were talking very, very loud. Then they moved back inside their apartment. Did they stop there? No! They started playing drums as if in a band. Very loud and the drums vibrated through the walls. Understandably I didn’t get a good night of sleep. The next morning I informed the host. He let me know that it was a group of young people who stayed only for a night and already left. I would not recommend Katona Apartments if you’re not a late night party person or if you don’t smoke.
