"We stayed 3 nights on a B&B basis. The breakfast was very good and the gentleman serving was friendly and good humoured. Our evening meals were variable in quality but I couldn't fault the rump steak! There was an excellent choice of quality beer. The staff were without exception helpful and pleasant. The hotel is very well located in a charming village with easy access to many beautiful places "

"It is impossible to overstate the standard of the Wensleydale Heifer. The awards affirm the restaurant quality and the standard of accommodation. What they do not evidence is the attention to detail that every member of staff personifies. This is the first opportunity we have had to stay at the Heifer, although we have eaten here before. The hotel was everything we hoped for and will become our "go to" place in the Dales. Thank you for a memorable stay!"

"River Dance cottage is a comfortable.clean and well presented holiday stay. The owners go to great lengths to ensure you feel welcome, and also have everything you need. A welcome pack of wine and tasty cookies are left for you to enjoy, the cottage has a fitted kitchen with all amenities. The towels are thick and fluffy too. Beds are well made and comfortable and the bathrooms have everything you need from shampoo and conditioner to hand soap. Highly recommend a stay here, it’s a shame we couldn’t have stayed longer, it’s an excellent base to explore the area from."
