Great hotel in a nice village. Decor is very good which gives the place a luxury feel. Staff were particularly pleasant and helpful and breakfast was great.
Excellent location for walks/village pubs/no traffic. Property has good amenities and excellent food as well as free parking and efficient staff.
We will return.
A really first class enjoyable stay. Lovely hotel, excellent food and brilliant service. Had a great time in a great hotel situated in a great location. Will definitely stay again in the not too distant future.
Gorgeous hotel in a stunning village. View from the bedroom was just perfect. Unusually decorated, comfortable, good water pressure in shower. Overall highly recommended place to stay.
Room was amazing and comfortable with fantastic views of the village, breakfast was a welcome treat. Was disappointed to find dirty cutlery in the dishwasher in the room on arrival. Very characterful and charming, overall a perfect getaway.
Stayed in the Eskeleth room - eccentric decor that feels luxurious. Nice views of the dales in a commanding position by the green in Reeth. Breakfast very good with lots of choice. Also had an evening meal which was very good as well. Staff very helpful and attentive. Parking on site. Would recommend for a short stay in the Dales.

Our overall stay was lovely.
There were quite a few things that prevented us from giving the 5 star rating.
We felt the overall appearance of the room looked tired, the coffee cups in the room were not clean (used by previous guests) and a constant noise was coming from the bathroom pipe duct in the wall. We also found that the walls were not sound proof, on both sides of our room, we could hear guests chatting and snoring.
The meals were fabulous and the bed was comfy.
Have just come back from a very special weekend at the Burgoyne. It is a really friendly hotel with lovely staff, excellent food and a superb building in a special location. It was highly recommended by a friend and lived up to everything he said it would be. The surrpounding countryside boasts many fantastic walks. Highly recommended.

Our room wasn't en-suite but I understand all rooms are due for conversion. The staff were excellent in all respects.
3rd visit this year ( january, april and May). Obviously we like it and the surroundings very much. Excellent breakfast and service. Rooms Keld and Thwaite are our regulars. not ensuite but not a problem as both have private bathrooms opposite.Never had an evening meal here as fine dining not our style. However they do have a limited menu for regular options earlier in the afternoon, early evening. Lovely setting on the Green with fantastic views. Hard to fault except for the building fabric ( window frames need painting, cracked wood etc.
Amazing views across Swaledale from the bedooms and front garden . Village green immediately outside the gate. Nicely furnished in the bedrooms and guest lounge. We had a seperate private bathroom. Tea/ biscuits in the room. Good breakfast with plenty of cereals, fruit, yoghurts etc and cooked breakfast options. Didn't eat at the hotel on this occasion othet than breakfast. Plenty of space for free parking at the rear. Have a bar menu for early evenings and another for more fine dining. Our second visit; this in early January and another in the summer. Enjoyed both.

The property has recently been sold and refurbished with frightful decor. The beautiful neutral decor room we booked with enormous bathroom now resembled a ‘brothel’ and the bathroom had been reduced to make an odd kitchenette. The heating didn’t work either so we had to change rooms.
Hotel full of character set at the top of the Green in Reeth. We had the Thwaite room with private bathroom across the corridor. Very comfortable room with ample tea/ coffee making facilities. Breakfast prepared to order with fruit/ yoghurt/ cereal as a help yourself. Would suggest a variety of breads instead of plain white only ( 5 star hotel ? ). Very nice staff throughout.. Free parking to the rear and large gardens front/ rear with ample seating.. B/ B here for 2 no more expensive than a house offering the same but without the country house feel to it.
Really enjoyed our visit on 11th April. Booked the Keld room for one night. 3rd visit to the hotel. Very comfortable room on the first floor looking down to the front garden and moors opposite. Hotel has a rear garden with superb views as well. No lifts on property. Excellent service, superb breakfast. Many rooms have seperate bathroom ( private ). Haven't had an evening meal here. Think its more fine dining than traditional " pub grub ''. Limited wines by the glass. Bottles approx 45- 90 pounds. The 2 wines we tried by the glass were mediocre to be honest. Visit coincided with fantastic weather conditions so a brilliant break. Would definitely recommend a stay at the Burgoyne in Reeth. The best position in the area.
Lovely property overlooking the Green.. rooms were very well decorated and seemed very opulent.. the room we had though felt a little cramped.. the bed was very big. But was awkward to get around.. the tv should be on the wall.. the bed was so high off the ground that you couldn’t see the tv properly! And my biggest bug bear in hotels etc… no dressing area.. no where to sit to dry hair etc!! But the hotel was very clean.. staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely… easy parking and Reeth is a very friendly village.. would I stay here again… probably yes but maybe a bigger room!
We found the hotel easily. The warm welcome and homely feel was great. The hilltop view from the clean spacious comfortable room was of the village green and beyond. We enjoyed an evening meal of an excellent standard. Breakfast was perfect too. Would happily recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable hotel
