old School Charm

Great Old school french hotel in the centre of Blois it is functional without being a corporate entity. Room was quiet cool and secure Breakfast wa good. Service was excellent

Great locally sourced breakfast. Comfortable bed and a good nights sleep. My wife had twisted her back on the journey and we were changed to a room opposite the lift which enabled her to not have to climb any stairs. However this room was quite small. Easy access to the city of Blois and the Chateau. Becoming our go to last night stop in France.

Great location, needs refurbishment

We had a comfort room with castle view and it was breathtaking, it was spacious and bright. However, the hotel desperately needs refurbishment, we had loose tiles in the bathroom here and there and the whole vibe is shabby.

A lovely old hotel in the spirit of Blois and la Loire Valley. The rooms a bit small and the hotel a bit dated but it only added to its charm. Super clean, still elegant, perfect location and the staff super welcoming and friendly. Breakfast in the lovely dining room, surrounded by castle paintings, was absolutely delicious and plentiful. The coffee machine with all its options is all that we needed of the modern world. Location next to the Royal Blois Castle and the pedestrian streets, the lovely Loire River, with our room overlooking a lovely church from our bedroom was just perfect. Also just a short drive away to visit the Chambord Castle and other great palaces in the area. So happy we chose Hotel de France et de Guise for our Loire lodging. No hotel parking but the paid street parking in the day, free at night, worked well for our schedule and short stay during our three day visit of the area.

Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, comfortable beds, well maintained property, but it is not elevator, so for my 86 years old mom was very difficult the access to the room. Just a few parking options available around the hotel.

The breakfast was actually not bad at all. However, the room was absolutely not as advertised. It was dirty, not functional, the sink kept clogging, the hairdryer wasn’t working and nothing was done to replace it when asked, and although they make it seem like traditional look, it’s actually mostly old (from the 90s) and not renovated at all. I would not recommend this place.

Das Hotel liegt ganz zentral, daher nachts auch laut.Das Schloss liegt quasi nebenan und es gibt Geschäfte und Restaurants in der unmittelbaren Umgebung. Die zentrale Bushaltestelle liegt gleich um die Ecke. Das Zimmer und das ganze Haus waren liebevoll dekoriert. Alles war sehr sauber und freundlich. Das Bett war sehr bequem. Gegen die Hitze gab es einen großen Ventilator.

Hôtel très charmant, les chambres "éco" étaient "dans leurs jus", mais tout de me confortable, personnel agréable, et le petit déjeuner en option était au top et proposait même plusieurs type de pain sans gluten, parfait pour les personnes intolérantes. Si vous voulez visiter le château de Blois et la Maison de la Magie, vous serez au plus proche ! Si je dois revenir dans le coin je choisirai cet hôtel sans hésiter.

Très bien situé dans Blois avec vue sur l'arrière du château royale et vue sur l'église et le parc. Hôtel atypique et très bien décoré. Petit déjeuner excellent dans une salle magnifique. On aurait aimer rester plus longtemps tellement on se sentait bien dans cette ville.
