"Room was cold"

"Some stray hairs in the bathroom and the pizza from the bar seemed like it was just a frozen pizza. Lovely room, great place. Would definitely stay again"

"We were delayed to 9pm and were unable to get through on the phone to let the pub know, however, check in was OK when we got there. The room was very cold on arrival but warmed up in an hour after the heater was turned on. It's a lovely pub and the room was nice, however, our room (called "Cannon", a premier room) was right over the bar, very noisy in the evening, and again in the morning with a very early delivery of clanking beer barrells. Ask for a quiet room!!"

"The room was clean apart from some mould in the corner of the bath which was a bit unsightly, also the furniture was quite tatty and in need of replacing or even just given a coat or two of paint. Considering the price I paid and the fact that I was only there for 1 night it wasn't an issue but thought it was very strange that the wardrobe had 2 security boxes but no hanging rail or hangers!!"

"I had a very pleasant stay overall and really appreciated the comfort and service provided. The hotel was very clean, well-maintained, and clearly lives up to its rating. The room was nicely arranged, which made the experience even more enjoyable. One small thing I did miss was having complimentary water bottles in the room, as this is something I’ve usually found helpful during my stays elsewhere. Additionally, a slight improvement could be made in the cleanliness just outside the building. Although there is a designated smoking area, there were quite a few cigarette butts visible, which suggests that the outdoor area may need more regular cleaning. While this didn’t affect me personally, it could make a noticeable difference for other guests and families. I didn’t include breakfast or dinner in my stay, but from what I could observe and the inviting aromas from the kitchen, it gave the impression of a high-quality dining experience, with a talented chef and a well-presented bar. Overall, it was a great experience, and I truly appreciate the effort of the staff. With just a little attention to these minor details, the stay could be even better."

"Having booked and prepaif a room I was a bit disappointed that every bar and food transaction had to be pre-paid and I could not run a tab. This was particularly frustrating as bar service was a bit slow and I was with a client meaning I had to break our discussion several times. Additionally in the room there is an emergwncy light. It has a large green bulb that is quite bright and illiminates the whole room. Its like sitting under the Aurora Borealis and kept waking us up. It could be repalced with a tiny LED as its purpose is only to show the emergency lighting is working. Other than those things it was OK."
