Hotel tried to gaslight me that the photos on Expedia (which showed both carpeted and not carpeted rooms) were not proof that I should expect an option. Instead claimed that I should somehow have divined that the rooms with flooring were more expensive and if I wanted to switch rooms I should pay an extra $20/hr.
The carpet was quite old and musty by the way so my allergies flared up over the course of 1 night. The guy who checked me in was lovely, Eric, but the morning shift lady, Foza/Roza was rude and unpleasant. Manager was unavailable so I opted to checkout early and go somewhere more welcoming and professional. The manager did call to follow up and apologise, and offer "a free upgrade to flooring", after I had already packed up and found a new hotel.
Also, the flooring around the pool (from the elevators) was sticky and gross. And the water was not clean like in the photos, and some of the lounge chairs were frayed and worn. It was giving nice hotel that has gotten rundown to be honest. But the lobby is newly renovated and quite lovely.
