"Car park a treck if you have items to carry. Digital key code would not work setting alarm off. Told to wait 45 mins for someone to come and re set until she remembered emergency key in cupboard in hallway. Flat lovely inside however bathroom lock was broken and no cold water coming through the shower scalding us. Reported but nonresponse. Fans on and off from building next door. When going out in the morning seeing the entrance in daylight was horrible. Bins and just not a safe looking place....

"It’s more like an HMO . The shared bathroom is used by ALOT of people including a family . Mainly single men so not advisable for solo female traveller . The bathroom is not pleasant but clean enough . The room was very clean and well maintained. "

"This stay at Blackthorn went above and beyond what I needed - some time and space for myself to write. In the comfort and peace of this hut in this location, I was able to write nearly 10,000 words, unheard of in my everyday busy life at home! "Excellent stay. Rooms - spacious, clean and large 50 inch TV is great. Breakfast - fantastic. Nice veggie sausages and excellent hash browns - English breakfast was excellent. Only thing that could be improved is having cheese in the breakfast. Swimming pool/spa - pool a bit shallow, but otherwise fine. Would have been incredible if there were a jacuzzi. Steam room and sauna are both great. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. On check in I left a review about the lack of toiletries (shampoo, conditioner and moisturiser), and the next day the staff left these in the room for us, which show good attention to detail and to feedback, which is well appreciated. Will definitely be returning!"
