"We were met by our first names and instantly offered a cup of tea and cake! This personal,friendly theme ran throughout our short stay and made it a really lovely experience. The rooms were large and beautifully furnished with everything you could want and shiny clean. Breakfast was well organised with a time slot so we could again benefit from the personal touch from our super hosts. Excellent, freshly cooked large portions😀. Would happily stay here again and recommend to friends and family."

Only a couple of minor things really , the shower head kept dipping down so was a bit of pain when you were shampooing etc . Bit noisy at night time but obviously the very nice owners can’t help that ."

"Its high end with great decor and fab spa facilities. Our stay was somewhat spoiled by drunken guests and their friends in the next room making excessive noise and shouting between 12.30-2.30 am, keeping us awake, security was called twice to try and resolve and did offer us a rom change in the middle of the night which was not practical. On speaking to Harry the manager it appears this was not the only case that evening. The hotel should consider introducing a quiet policy after 12 with...

"Lovely hotel full of character, little tired in places but that didn’t affect its charm. Beautiful view from the luxury room. Nice big room and lovely bathroom. Maid service excellent. Breakfast did not disappoint and again with beautiful views over the sea. Would book again. Staff all very polite and helpful."

"We have stayed at Astor house before so we came back to the same apartment. They had upgraded the sofas to recliners which was a nice surprise. The apartment itself is easy to get to clean and Torquay town centre is a short walk away. It has a great view over the beach side of Torquay and the area is quiet. The place is clean and well maintained and the host kindly provided some biscuits and milk. I would highly recommend this place."

"Went for one night . Really friendly staff and good location . Room was Executive Double. Nice and spacious with chairs sofa and good view . Bed was clean and tidy . Just room was a little dated and worn in places."

"No phone in room. Fan faulty. One window opened slightly the other didn't. Asked for Seaview but declined. Restaurant menu doesn't attract the area e.g seafood. Unaccessible garden through basement. Party on Saturday meant the hotel users were barred without consent to the area. No safety in the sauna such as wear slippers."
