"Beautiful property on the lake. Check in was slow and they were behind schedule, which was frustrating. However, they gave us free breakfast vouchers, which helped. The restaurant was great, we ended up eating there twice. It’s also one of the only waterfront places to eat, as most of downtown isn’t waterfront. "I have stayed at Hot Sara before and enjoyed it. This time, however, we were placed in the "annex" section. The room was terrible - we nicknamed it "the dungeon". Little tiny windows, bare bulb overhead lighting, inadequate bulb-type bedside lighting. We had a suite and it was the least luxurious thing I have ever stayed in. The shelf under the bathroom sink fell to the floor every time you tried to take a towel of the shelf! Add to that the fact that a wedding party booked the ballroom bar...

"It was really bleh. I was in room 12, i paid extra for the jacuzzi tub and didn't even use it, it didn't look clean. The bathroom has a lower ceiling, if you're 6' and over chances are you dont fit in the shower. The amenities were bad. The carpet in the room should be removed. If anything ask for room 1 to 11. "Overall, a decent hotel but nothing really exceptional about it. Clean room with a small balcony. Lighting was so dim in the bathroom it was hard to see. Only one chair in the room. Access into and out of the property a little difficult. Parking lot very tight. Lots of original artwork decorating the walls."

"We have been coming here for 15 years. They really need to update the workout room, the machines are old and not working. The bathroom showers still need grout cleaning and I told the front desk. Paid $370 for waterfront room for one night. They do allow you to go on the lake early upon arrival while you wait for the room. The kids love stopping here before we spend the week in saranac. It's a great hotel but definitely can use some updating in certain areas. The landscaping by the pool area...
