City Hotel is super convenient to Amsterdam Centraal and the city’s main tourist areas. Big plus: outstanding free breakfast, which in an area where restaurants are not cheap, puts you ahead on the day. Food is fresh, tasty, and nutritious.

this is my first solo travel and I had a very comfortable and good 3 night stay in the hotel. I have stayed in a few budget hotels and this is one of the nicest one. It is very close to everything, especially the central station. my room was serviced everyday and the breakfast included was a plus. staff are all nice, will definitely stay again

Lovely cosy hotel quite centrally situated. Rooms spacious, great walk in shower, good beds. Breakfast was a buffet really good plus cereal and fresh fruit. Totally recommend this hotel.

A very pleasant 2-night stay

i think size (or lack thereof) may just be an Amsterdam thing, but I was "upgraded" to a superior twin room after initially booking a basement room. The superior room was probably the size of two double beds in total. But then again, all I did was sleep in the room so not a massive deal. The location was great and breakfast was included. It was a very simple breakfast but very well presented and consisted of reasonably good quality products. the staff were very friendly and all in all a very pleasant 2-night stay

Let me say the staff is wonderful. I’m a single traveler and everyone was so nice. I could walk up to the bar downstairs anytime and have a drink , converse with the staff and the breakfast buffet was delicious. The only drawback was the room layout. My room had a pillar in the middle separating the main area frame the desk and chair. Very strange. Maybe not all the rooms are like that.

Great location. But wish the site would have informed better on the room set up and location. The A/C did not work which apparently they know that none worked. We were set on the 3rd floor , in the attic which was warm since the power does not stay on when you leave. The stairs were out of a Harry Potter movie and extremely difficult to navigate with suitcase. Great fun for very light travelers, but unfortunately I was traveling a group that pack heavy. If I was aware of the set up, I wouldn’t have stayed at this hotel.. Price is definitely not reflecting the room set up, but the location only. Some of the staff, while friendly were not very helpful for service.

Not exactly as anticipated...

One night in a "Standard Room, Double Bed", as listed on Hotels.com. Pros: Excellent location, extremely helpful, friendly staff, luggage storage, 2PM check in/12 PM check out is generous compared to other options. Was able to book in the summer for under $200, which can be a challenge in the city center. The Wifi in our room was very fast, and very reliable. Bed was very clean. But oh...the cons: LOW CEILINGS in some rooms. My partner is just over 6 ft. tall, and he could not stand up straight in some places. We both had to duck to step up into the bathroom, and there was an uncomfortably low-hanging beam right above the toilet. So just a "heads up", if you are on the taller side, and not cautious, you WILL hit your head on concrete. We aren't picky travelers and have stayed in many older hotels around the world, but we did consider eating the cost to book a different room for fear of injury-no exaggeration. This section of rooms is also not serviced by the lift, so be mindful when selecting your room type if you have a good amount of luggage-there aren't many stairs, but they are narrow and steep. No aircon(didn't expect it per listing), but does come with a decent fan. The room was still quite warm during our June stay, so don't expect any reprieve from the hot, humid weather during the summer. All in all, however, if you're doing nothing but sleeping here, it is an acceptable option in an otherwise expensive city. Just choose your room type carefully if you're tall.
