Hotel rooms in France tend to be small which was not the case with this hotel. King size bed! Internet was also fast, something that was also lagging in other hotels we stayed. Breakfast was pretty good with amazing scrambled eggs.

Good Base in Loire Valley

We chose this hotel for the location slightly outside of the city because it had parking and our primary reason for visiting was to use Amboise as a base to explore the Loire Valley. The hotel was quiet, the room was small and the shower stall was minuscule! Breakfast each day was very good with a lot of fresh options.

We picked this hotel for parking, but it is not walkable if you have a good dinner and something to drink. The staff were AWESOME - they went above and beyond 24/7. My issue was the room, I could deal with the room size - I know it's France, but there was absolutely no where to put suitcases and clothes. The room had a large alcove and instead of putting shelving or a dresser they put two chairs. This made zero sense since that forced us to live out of suitcases on the floor.

Not the worst, not the best

Ample free parking. Close to town center, but still a short drive downtown. Friendly staff. Mini fridge in room. Air conditioning was not working "again" per the front desk, which was annoying because it was a main reason we picked here. Luckily, keeping windows open to sleep made it bearable. Had to use the shower drain cover to prevent funky smell.

There is no heat available in the rooms until sometime in October. Air conditioning is available but when we stayed in Sept. the room felt chilled. The manager accommodated us with a extra quilt for the bed. That helped a lot with sleeping, but the room was still cool. Having a portable heater would have been appreciated.

Away from the station. You are at the mercy of taxi drivers so you have no choice. We ask hotel to book taxi for us and we’re dropped off two hours before departure of our train. With 20 euros for two kms ride. Rooms are good. Be prepared to walk.
