Great place for the value and location. We only stayed for one night. The bedroom was a nice size for two. They have a bunk bed in the main living area if you were travelling with more people. The bathroom was a little cramped.

There were not many units, but still was quite noisy just due to thin walls. Good size and comfortable for our family with two kids. Nice to have a small kitchen to have breakfast and dinners.

Terrible smell inside the apartment probably from some water damage co bined with mold. We had to open all windows and the tenpeture oudside was -5°C.

Do not stay in these apartments. This review is for Apartment No 6 1) The hot water smelt of rotten eggs, which on investigation is linked to bacteria in the water tank. We had to resort to boiling the kettle to use hot water. We contacted the property 18th Feb to raise our concerns and did not get a reply. I raised a complaint with Expedia on our return and the property have refused to take any accountability for the problem. Expedia were very good dealing with the complaint though 2) The floor below us was being refurbished and building work started at 08.30 every day until around 17.00. We were not made aware of any such works going on. 3) The Bathroom cabinet was severely water damaged and had gone mouldy 4) The overhead shower was for visual effect only, as the pipe that should connect the shower valve to the shower head was not connected. It was also not fixed to the wall safely and came away easily. 5) There was no fluorescent bulb above the cooking hob, only an empty space where it should have been. This mean't cooking in very dim light 6) The freezer door was broken and kept falling off 7) The floors had definitely not been cleaned as our socks were filthy after just arriving Akureyri is a lovely place, but it's a shame it was ruined by the accomodation

Disappointed

The apartment was not as described or pictured. I paid for a two bedroom apartment with a living room. There was only one bedroom and a kitchen. There was no living room and the 2nd bedroom was a bed in the kitchen. Also, someone put a huge dent in our rental car in the parking lot, which is going to cost us a lot of money. There is no way this person didn’t realize what they did, based on the size of the dent. So be careful parking back there.

Sehr zentral, Appartement für 3 ausreichend (zu viert etwas eng). Schlafzimmer aber sehr klein, kam nicht mal ums Bett herum. Küche ok, sogar Backofen aber etwas wenig Ausstattung (kein Sieb, kein kleines Schneidemesser). Sauber und zweckmäßig. Sofortige Reaktion auf Fragen per E-Mail.

Great location....we enjoyed our two-night stay here. Step out the door and you are there...right in the midst of great local restaurants and across the street from the harbor. Property overlooks the harbor...5 minute walk to whale watching tours. We did a 9:00 am whale watch tour, then walked back to check out--easy and convenient. Apartment was very clean and nicely furnished...equipped for a longer stay. Combo washer and dryer; kitchen with all the things you need like coffee pot (!), excellent wi-fi, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, etc. Lock box to get in, and info card on table inside has internet connect information. Just park and go in. Nice! Only a few helpful hints if you go there...we did not see the house number to find it, but you can't miss it--corner house, bright blue and white, 3-story. I will add a photo if possible. Third floor, park in back. The new wood flooring was pretty "squeaky" just walking around, and the traffic noise is intrusive in the daytime...but the town and apartment was totally quiet by about 11:00 pm every night so sleeping was not a problem for us. 3rd floor apartment, nice view, would definitely stay again. Owner was fantastic...send an email thru Orbitz or call and he replies right away. We wanted a couple hours late checkout and he was fine with it. Overall, not a luxury hotel, but everything needed for comfort and a really great location.
