It's so big with long hallways and lots of steps, considering we have a child in a Pram and lots of luggage it was so exhausting to carry everything from the car park to walk across to the hotel. "Nice clean room. Really big bathroom Very hot but it was a hot evening outside The check-in was weird because we were asked to pay £5 for parking which wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the booking process. Considering it’s a motorway services accommodation, there’s really no choice unless we parachuted in. The hotel should have the honesty to include it in the price at booking."

"Had to click on something to get to this part of the review. Never actually stayed at the hotel, but spoke to a lady called Catherine who was brilliant! We had to cancel due to family commitments, but good old Expedia wouldn’t refund as they said I was too late to do as, but I took out the cancellation cover with them which said I could cancel up to the 3/5, but they thought different. I will never use Expedia again. You need to speak to people not robots!!"

I did not much care for the long black hairs stuck to the walls of the shower from a previous guest. Clearly not a good cleaning regime. The shower has my pet hate. The shower controls are behind the door. You can't use them without being inside it and it is too small to avoid getting the inevitable blast of cold water that is living in the pipes before whatever...

"Our room was not as big as expected from the photos and we were overlooking a flat roof with extractor fans continuously on - not so great when we had to have the windows open in the heat and could not get the ac to work. "Beautiful old main building and well constructed new wing that blended seamlessly with the old main Hall. However, due to the layout and lack of lifts it meant a really long walk from our room to the main reception area. The Hotel seemed to have a lack of staff - the very nice mature lady at reception, was multitasking and ended up carrying our bags up to the room. This staff shortage manifested itself later when we went to have dinner - to be told that the gas was off in the kitchen and...

"Lovely room and facilities but why charge for car park if you’re staying, appreciate it’s near the airport but there must be a way of controlling access without penalising guests who have already paid to stay."

"This hotel is a typical English pub hotel best suited to those with a car. We had requested a ground floor room but were allocated an upstairs room on arrival. However, this was changed by the receptionist and the room we got was fine. It was a good size and looked out on the bar courtyard, fortunately quiet as it was cold and wet outside. The bathroom was fine and bed comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the evening meals were good."
