"Hawksmoor House ist ein klassisches, 300 Jahre altes Capholländisches Bauerngehöft. Wir waren zuerst im Herrenhaus untergebracht, dann in einem Nachbargebäude. Beide Zimmer waren ausserordentlich schön. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Zu bemängeln gab es nichts. Allerdings sollten Reisende wissen, dass die Anfahrt über einen unbefestigten Weg erfolgt. Wifi gibt es nur im Herrenhaus. Nach einer Corona-Pause könnte hie und da die Fassade frisch gestrichen werden. Aber dies sind wirklich winzige...

"Stayed here 2/19/24 through 2/21. Location and property are absolutely beautiful, but unwalkable from downtown Franschhoek, so you'll need a rental car or us their recommended taxi service via Whatsapp if you plan to drink lots of wine. Uber was not reliable in this area. The staff were very nice and the breakfast options were good, but limited. I would highly recommend this location. "

"The actual hotel is really very good and the rooms are outstanding. Nice grounds, nice pool and the food was also of a decent quality. Now on a road trip around South Africa, you get used to warnings about safety and taking care of belongings. Here we were welcomed with a lengthy delivery on all the steps the hotel was taking and what in turn we needed to do, which even by SA standards appeared a bit alarming, so made you think the surrounding area must be a huge 'worry'. "Wunderschöne Unterkunft in idyllischer Lage, wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Cottages sind mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und super stylisch. Auch das Frühstück im Pool House war lecker und alle Angestellten überaus freundlich. Tolles Team! Einen Stern Abzug müssen wir leider geben, da wir mehrfach kein Wasser in unserem Cottage hatten, z.B. auch morgens vor dem Duschen und Zähne putzen. "Es war unsere erste Unterkunft nach der Landung in Südafrika. Wir waren in einem Cottage untergebracht und es war einfach zauberhaft. Landes typisch, sauber und ganz herzlich eingerichtet. Das Essen war lecker und das Frühstück fantastisch. Auch die Exkursionsfahrten waren sehr lustig und informativ. Wir haben die zwei Tage dort sehr genossen. "The location of the hotel is good. The stairs down the the rooms is built for somebody with long legs and the ramp - not sure if that is for a wheel chair which I will never use. The restaurant is very over priced and its really not great food. The food at Mrs Simpson is WAY better. The fire place, having a vent right on top, the room was always smelling of smoke.
