"Very tired hotel! Geo thermal pool is not geo thermal. Rooms are untidy and dirty. We had ‘willies’ drawn in to the bathroom mirror. Screws in the wall but paintings in the wardrobe. ?? Carpet was dirty and other guests rubbish still on the floor. Curtain rail was broken and hanging off the ceiling so curtain would not shut properly. Spa was very tatty. We were told on checkout that the hotel had only recently been purchased and was being renovated but that was not advertised. If you are going for the pool prepare to be disappointed, also take a wetsuit and swim hat. Also, if you are celiac, despite saying they will cater for you at breakfast it is not guaranteed and risk free. Anyone can use the ‘gluten free’ toaster. The only positive was dinner which was good food and good service. We would never book a Radisson hotel again! Very very disappointing! "

"Interior decor of communal spaces was lovely. Only outside seating area small gravelled section on edge of carpark. Room 4 not spacious but adequately furnished. Bed was comfortable. Luxury large shower compartment and multi-jet shower unit. Grime and discolouration around shower frame, plug and back of toilet seat. Secondary glazing on window blocked road noise well but excessive grime around frame. Hostess was friendly and consistently cheerful and appeared to be responsible for reception, bar, breakfast and housekeeping single- handed."

"Room was clean but dated and could do with a refresh. Evening meal was excellent, I had the steak & Malbec pie and it is one of the best pies I have ever eaten. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss, there were two of us and one wanted black pudding and one didn’t but neither got any, nor did we get the fried bread, there were only two juices available, orange and apple (I think) but the orange juice ran out and not replenished although there were staff around. You could have tea or coffee by request but only one latte or cappuccino, there were no cereals, fruit or danish etc which you would expect from a hotel chain such as this (Marstons). However the staff, especially at dinner, were absolutely fantastic, always on hand to help and not too overbearing with the usual ‘is your meal ok’ type scenario. They are a credit to the company. The reason for the 3 stars is the room needing updating and the breakfast."

"The stay at Sheriff Lodge,Matlock was absolutely excellent.Ziz the Propietor goes above and beyond in every aspect.My Partner and I stayed 20th April- 22nd April,the latter being my Birthday. Ziz popped a Birthday Card on the Breakfast Table discreetly with amazing food on offer and excellently cooked wvery time.Her local knowledge was also above and beyond juxtapose her Hospitality and attentiin to all details. "
