"Nice spacious and very clean room. Well facilitated with a tea tray and bottles of water. Room was immensely hot but thankfully able to open all the windows. Liked fresh cooked breakfast (as opposed to usual buffets) however I would love to see a better drinkable coffee being served and a little gripe - after requesting hard poached egg with no ‘snot’ my egg was totally snotty when I cut it and ran into my breakfast so didn’t eat much. "Quaint location in an historical building. Some uneven floorboards and doors would get stuck, but that’s to be expected ina building several hundred years old."

"I didn’t have breakfast so cannot comment, but it looked fresh. Had a coffee but was luke warm, could not be warmed up as it was from a machine. Staff super helpful when I requested to move to a bigger room. Manager was very helpful too. The only thing that let the hotel down is that the walls and floors could be thicker, a family that were staying seemed to let their children run free, up and down the corridors! Was annoying. Could not hear the traffic noise at all. Aircon was nice....

"Overall experience ok, staff friendly but only one staff at the morning breakfast and have to wait for 20 mins just to order. Room was basic for Bannatyne standard. The standard double bed was very uncomfortable as it was combination of 2 beds joined together leaving the gap in the middle. Shower was flooded and toilet flush buttons not working properly. A bit dissappointed."

"The room we were staying, the decor was tired - not worthy of a 4 star hotel unfortunately. Upon arrival, wardrobe door was hanging off hinges, the wifi receiver box was hanging of the wall - room was also very dark. Pointed out wardrobe door to concierge and they had it fixed the next day, but should have been done before guest arrival - tables in hallway tired and peeling off. The staff was friendly though, especially in the breakfast room. Breakfast had a good choice."

"What a fantastic place to stay. Reasonably priced. Free parking in the grounds. Castle felt like a museum too. So many things to see and such a lot of history. My solo room was perfect. Breakfast was brilliant. Made to order. Selection of continental breakfast too. Will definitely come back. "

"Cleanliness was excellent, no restaurant for most of my stay. Walls in room are paper thin, so can hear everything in next room! Overall, booking in process very good, room was very good… maybe don’t place guesses in rooms next to staff, especially if they are ill and cough all night long!!! "

"We just had a standard double room, I was suprised how nice it was for the price. The hotel itself is lovely, such a beautiful place. There are a few animals outside to feed, an outdoor bar area. The bar inside is great and reasonably priced. The food is AMAXING "
