"Good stay. Suitable accommodations for the night on my way to cruise in Ft. Lauderdale"

"The place is nice. The pool area is nice. We felt like it nickled and dimed you for everything. If you wanted a pool lounge chair closest to fence to be able to look out while by the pool, you had to pay to rent it. These should have bee included. There were lounge chairs in front of the resort, on the beach, that also had to be rented. The place next door provided those for their guest. With my family of 4, we would have paid $ 60a day to sit by the beach or at the pool looking out at the beach. The cost of the hotel is not worth the price for what you get. The drinks were ridiculously expensive at the hotel bar and pool bar, 2 drinks $40. "

"We reached out to customer service on the day of check in to explain that my partner was experiencing severe food poisoning and to request an early check-in so she could have a place to rest. We were directed to submit the request through the “virtual front desk” as this is the ONLY way to request this accommodation. Two days later—at 10:30 AM on the day of checkout—the request was still pending. Despite this, we received a message stating they were happy they were able to accommodate our request, which is angering after having to watch my partner struggle with nowhere to rest for hours as we waited for the request to be accepted the day of check in days earlier. No communication. No follow up. Not even a response in the app we were so flippantly directed to.  Dear Hillsboro Beach Resort by Kasa, and whoever is on the other end of your guest text support: If you plan to rely on a “virtual front desk” for guest requests, there needs to be a timely and reliable response system in place. I truly hope that when you or someone you love is 1,500 miles away from home and experiencing that much difficulty, you are treated with more compassion and care than you treated us with. I understand that policies and systems are in place for operational reasons, but in situations involving guest health and well-being, some degree of flexibility and human decency/responsiveness is essential. One star is too many.  "

"Very good location and nicely renovated hotel by Sonesta. Very clean and great staff, outdoor pool nice and great view of the beach and location across the street. Be aware of valet parking only and expensive, limited space in the front with only one handicap space for extra fee and cash only. Only 5 VIP spaces available in front the hotel. Extra cash fee only requested by the attendant. Parking in a lot in the back of the hotel."

"This is not a hotel. It is a cheap “hourly like motel” at best. The pictures do not match the actual property. The property is filthy, unsafe, and has mold. We did not stay for even 10 minutes. Completely disgusting. Health department should visit."
